We all have certain things that we have to have on us at all times. What we have in our pockets can vary by time of year, time of life and where we are.
When my kids were little, I always had a little bag of fruit snacks in my pocket. When I am teaching, I always try to have a pack of mints and a sharpie in my pocket.
What do you having in your pocket that might not be self-defense-related?

Pack of gum has always been a long thing
I don’t anymore, yet since I was 14 until about 40 I always had a few guitar picks.
Particularly most of those years the Dunlop standard Tortex green .88mm.
A paper towel. Always in my pocket until it’s in the wash machine and dryer in bits and pieces. 38 years together, the wife still acts surprised by this.
front left pocket: change and a pocket knife (Buck)
back left pocket: checkbook (yes a checkbook)
back right pocket: wallet
front right pocket: North American Arms .22 mag mini revolver
As a Chef, I always have an ink pen, a sharpie, a notebook and a thermometer. I always have a pocket knife or two. Nothing worse than having to open a box or package without one. I also have a small ball of twine.
I always carry my keys, USCCA flashlight and pen, Trayvax wallet, retired NYPD badge and ID holder and a USCCA Kershaw knife. Some cash in case I get hungry or want to buy something I see that I gotta have. And my cell phone and COVID-19 mask which could be definitely considered self defense nowadays.
