I have carried 4 different weapons at the same time in some circumstances. Normally 2. Depending on weather, clothing and circumstances. most of the time, Today I carry a .380 semi-auto, or a .
Taurus DA 450 chamberd in a 45 Colt revolver, it will also shoot .45 APC moon clips, my Taurus public defender shoots.410 2.5 in, 45 apcmoon mo clips .or a Ruger LCRX .357mag. I lean towards revolvers. Belly bands, hip holsters, shoulder holsters, ankle holster, pocket holster. Retention is paramount. I was there when spray and pray was invented. Great for jungle warfare. Civilian self defense, not so much. I still try to get to the range about 4 times a month. 150 to 200 rds.ea. time. If I had to chose one gun, it would be my .380.

.380 kel-tec. About 15 years old. I don’t know how many rds. Or brands I put thru it. It digests everything I’ve fed it. When you had to qualify live fire for a CCW, I used my .380 to get it done. It
Is adaquately accurate to about 15 yards. I keep it loaded with Hornady critical defense rds.

I switch between a Bodyguard 2.0 and a Shield Plus for EDC but the house gun is a Glock 19 Gen 5 with a light.

Those S&Ws are great carry guns. Glocks did not get their reputation by failures or being problems. Like em or not, they earned their status. My old single action six, 10.5 in. Barrel. Ruger 44mag. Is the handgun I carried for remote Alaska fly in or boat in hunting/fishing trips. Even just day hunting/fishing trips out of Anchorage. That revolver would group my Handloads, iron sights, bench rest, 3 in. @ 100yds. Later in WA, ID, MT. Before the 454 Casull or 50S&W.

Hi Richard. Hard to beat that Ruger. A little on the heavy side, a little bit hard to conceal, but manageable. Those are advantages when firing the revolver. Plus the big advantage; dependability.

I remembered during my early days of showing interest in buying a gun, I just rented a Glock 19 and it didn’t leave a lasting impression.
For about five years, the only gun I carried was a Ruger SR9C (“K” stainless model as pictured below). One of the best stock triggers ever.

It still aches 24/7, but my surgeon and I believe it is due to inflammation. I am working with a rheumatologist and my cardiologist to select a medication they can both agree is safe for me.
Ironically, during range sessions it seems to feel better. Maybe it’s the massage of the recoil, or just the enjoyment of doing it.

Personally, I love revolvers. .357s in the 22oz to 25oz range. Or .38s in the 16oz to 18oz range. Love my Lcrx Ruger in 22mag
