Opinion: FBI Director Kash Patel Needs to Review the Second Amendment

There is no doubt that FBI Director Kash Patel is doing a good job leading America’s premier federal law enforcement agency.

In just one year, his agents have arrested six of the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted suspects.

The agents who conspired against presidential candidate Donald L. Trump are now looking for work.

Patel, who is only 45 years old, has been on the ground whenever and wherever his agents need help, including Minnesota.

His energy has paid off.

Nationally, there has been a 20% drop in the murder rate and a 100% increase in violent crime arrests.

More than 1,800 gangs and drug crews have been broken up, which is an increase of more than 200%.

Most importantly, more than 6,000 missing children have been located and are being returned home, and 1,700 child predators and now behind bars. That alone is absolutely stunning work.

Which brings us to Minnesota and the hell federal agents are facing on an hourly basis.

After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti, who was very well armed, Patel said this:

“No one who wants to be peaceful shows up at a protest with a firearm that is loaded with two full magazines,” Patel said during an interview on FOX. “That is not a peaceful protest, and you do not get to touch law enforcement. You do that anywhere; this FBI is going to be leading the charge to arrest those.”

Respectfully, Director Patel, millions of law-abiding American gun owners strongly disagree.

The Second Amendment guarantees our right to be armed—period—full stop. There is no “protest clause,” which cancels it out, or any ammunition limit.

Even uber-liberal Minnesota allows private citizens with a concealed-carry permit to be armed, including at a protest.

I understand Director Patel may still be pumped full of negative emotion caused by what’s occurring almost hourly in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but the country’s gun owners are not responsible for any of the protests or the mayhem.

And as to the man’s magazines, how many mags, sir, can law-abiding American gun owners carry? If I carry my normal two guns and four magazines, am I at risk for arrest? Will FBI agents begin targeting me here in Florida?

The liberal mainstream media is strongly opposed to all federal law enforcement. More than 93% of their stories about ICE, for example, are negative. If you add in comments from the inane Tim Walz and other liberal Minnesota politicians, we can see what the Trump Administration is facing. However, the Second Amendment cannot ever be ignored, belittled or bent to suit any political need or purpose, regardless of what the current President and his team are facing.

The Second Amendment is sacrosanct. It applies to protesters, even those whom we do or do not support.

We gun owners have a lot to thank Director Patel for, such as when he was also acting ATF Director and he repealed Joe Biden’s insane Zero Tolerance Policy. However, the comments Patel made this weekend about the shooting sound exactly like something Biden would say, and the Good Lord surely knows we don’t need another Biden.

I sincerely hope Director Patel will recognize the importance of the Second Amendment. It is not a right that the FBI or any other federal agency can revoke or temporarily suspend.

As to the good director’s comment, in which he said no one who wants to be peaceful shows up armed, most everyone I know is always armed. And to a man, or woman, we are all extremely peaceful.

I agree, this is the concern I had after the shooting of Pretti. Both Pretti and Goode interfered in lawful Law Enforcement Activities, so I’m not concerned about what ultimately happened. Add in all of the people trying to rile the 2A community up, to me, is a ploy that is easily seen through.

But the comments in the immediate aftermath of the Pretti shooting by Noem and Patel, were very concerning. Hopefully, the Trump Administration will address the issues.

What happened is truly tragic. If you’ve ever watched the protocols for a traffic stop, you know you make no sudden movements without notice of what you are going for and where it is. I understand all the arguments, but if a traffic stop can go sideways because you didn’t obey an officer’s instructions and you were stopped for a minor traffic violation, imagine the probability of things going sideways in a situation all parties found themselves in here. When emotions run high, possible fear etc. law at this point means nothing. We’re not talking law or constitutional rights now, we’re dealing with instincts, right or wrong, which ignore law in favor of survival.

I disagree on this point, but that is just semantics.

This is simply grasping at straws, taking one out of the left’s playbook. It is truly sickening. They cannot just stand up and take responsibility for their officer’s actions and condemn his overzealousness.

Watch video of Alex Pretti shooting compared to Kristi Noem's description of events - CBS News
Is this Dave’s sister? She outright lies. While you can see the proof.
To me it looks like he moved in to either pick her up or stand in the way with his hands in the air of the officer assaulting a woman. Trying to deescalate things, or as we like to call it around here, “A Good Guy with a Gun.”

Maybe Patel and Trump can attend the same class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIM7ap12vPo

The Goode shooting I won’t comment on Looked like a good shooting . The Pretti shooting I have issue with he was wrong in meny ways but from the different videos I have seen it was a bad shoot just my opion I want to see a complete investigation of it with all facts laid out.

I dont have a problem with pretti carrying, I got a problem that he put himself in the situation where he knew he was gonna get confronted. He put himself in that situation.

We all know you dont look for fights armed, usually doesn’t end well, either by room temp or legally

Patel needs to either keep his mouth shut in front of reporters or know the laws of this country. same for any politician who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution.

I have some issues in that shooting but my overall opinion it happened so fast and chaotic that if, and I do say if, any investigation into this incident that it was entirely self made by Pretti. I would tend to give grace to the Federal Agents in this specific incident.

There are a whole host of reasons that I would blame for the death of Pretti, before I got to the Federal Agents. Primarily the Politicians who are manipulating these useful idiots and the paymaster for these “mostly peaceful protests” (read riots and rioters).

I fully expect and believe that records and evidence are being destroyed, under the cover of these riots. What records and evidence you say? The records and evidence pertaining to the massive fraud by the Somali “refugee’s”. The timing is not a coincidence, at least in my eyes. I found it interesting, to say the least, that the fiery rhetoric by certain politicians of the past weeks is easing. Isn’t that “special”?

But what do I know I’m just a stupid redneck

I got alot of questions also on this situation vs the good scenario.

When carrying you have an obligation to avoid conflicts. You do not bring a gun to a violent demonstration. That is wrong and you should not be defending it.

Kyle Rittenhouse.
I am sorry; that’s right, he was a Republican. I forgot a different set of rules.

Correct, different set of everything’s!!!

Pretti brought a concealed handgun,

Rittenhouse openly carried a long gun.

Pretti went to interfere with, and harass federal law enforcement

Rittenhouse went to support law enforcement with protection of property against unlawful rioting.

Seems as though there’s more than a few differences in the cases….

Rittenhouse used his firearm in self-defense, Pretti used his to get ICE’d.

Regardless of what idiocy was spouted by a federal offcial, we are “allowed” to carry to public events as long as one is not committing any crime or the location is not a prohibited area/building, such as a school or post office, etc.

It seems my groupies have a reading disability. I am not going to take the time to do what the shiat educational system failed to do in this country, like teach basic reading comprehension or civics.

I am uncertain exactly which words you used specifically that baffled them there as well, but their responses prove it was beyond their mental capabilities. Your wording truly appears simple enough.

(Carry a gun to protest.) (No should do.) Maybe that will help.
Oh yeah, Kyle indulged in the very same thing.

Simply, both set out looking for trouble. If you are incapable of understanding this simple fact, go get help.

Rittenhouse did not do the same thing. He used his rifle in self-defense. How many times do you need to be shown you are wrong? We are “allowed” to carry where it is not prohibited. We are “allowed” to carry when we are not committing a crime. Pretti was not legally carrying as he did not have his permit, ID, and he was committing crimes.

Right. Look where that got him. Kyle should have left it home too. He was a kid, not smart in the head yet.

That did not go well for him either. He should have left it home.
