The Threat to our Liberty

I am guilty of getting drawn into a debate about the minutia of one isolated incident and losing the focus on the larger issue: rights and liberties. I so deeply regret that I lack the eloquence to communicate to this community the danger that we face in the erosion of those rights and liberties. I’m not as articulate or persuasive as someone like Charlie Kirk to convey that message. Many of us are using mental gymnastics to rationalize what is occurring from the comfort of our keyboards. Others even approve of what’s happening simply because it’s happening to someone they don’t like and not them. My sincere goal was to rally the 2A community, staunch proponents of rights and liberties, to advocate for those whose rights are being usurped. I fear that I have failed. My greatest fear is that those of us who can make a difference will realize the danger too late to do anything about it.

To which right(s) and/or liberty(s) are you referring? Who has lost or is losing them?

I feel generally the same.

There’s a massive erosion of our rights happening when government entities create laws limiting accessories!

Free speech is eroding every day by media and influencers calling for cancel culture of things they disagree with!

You will have to look for yourself at what’s happening around the country and particularly in Minneapolis and decide for your self if anyone’s rights and liberties are being threatened. I won’t be able to convince you of anything you don’t see for your self.

You initiated a topic claiming that rights and liberties are being taken, that there is an active erosion of them. You are unable to point to a single right and/or liberty that has been taken away or identify who has lost them?

I believe we have rights and liberties to make life better for us all. We can only protect our own rights and liberties if we do not take the rights and liberties of others. I know it is easy to get drawn into others minutia because everyone has an agenda. For example people want to make it about politics when we are discussing 2A. If we want to discuss 2A we should keep it positive and discuss how 2A makes our lives better not who we need to blame for us not being able to exercise our rights.

There are no absolutes. Try thinking about the proper result, which is anyone involved in the fraud went to court for it with serious consequences and reparations. If the local cops worked with ICE to get illegals (not a negotiable term) back to their homelands. Regular people wouldn’t insert themselves into the work of law enforcement expecting nothing to happen to them. There’s a reason not everyone wants to do that work (or the work of firemen, ER doctors, etc.)…it is frackin’ dangerous. These folks are assuming that their YT course or movie watching has prepared them…and it has not. I have zero sympathy for those who FAFO, especially in this environment. there isn’t a person who doesn’t understand the powder keg that MN is right now. to march into it like you were saving babies from a fire is just plain dumb.

If he wanted to save someone, he could have started with himself. Maybe house a few illegals if he loves that path until the cops come. But this? Just another self delete, IMHO. And there will be more.

Did anyone notice how there were no whistles, drums, screaming, etc. at the vigil? Curious about that…Only part time animals and not paid overtime, perhaps?

Possibly not a bad thing, it might indicate that our 2A community crosses many subcultures. Perhaps, despite our own differences - we can still get along and even unite on certain levels or topics.

Agreed.

I am beginning to think that a “simple” answer would be to deputize the Mpls. Police as Federal Officers. I expect that the Mpls. Officers would relish the ability to enforce written MN State law again instead of bowing and scraping to political Toadys and their one-sided “Social Justice.”

But I digress…

We learn it in Self Defense, We Learn/Teach it in martial arts. It’s been said many ways over time but it still loudly rings true today.

“Go Looking For Trouble You Will Sure As Hell Find It!”

Doesn’t matter if your right or wrong, your cause means nothing in respect to trouble. George Floyd, Ashli Babbit, Nicole Good… had a cause, believed in their cause but in the end the cause didn’t save them.

…of illegal immigrants?

Or, protesters in support of illegal immigrants?

Or, both?

It ends when accountability is lost, media is suppressed, and people accept manufactured realities, allowing power to consolidate and dismantle checks and balances.
Analyses suggest that this often occurs when people believe they are trading abstract liberties for tangible safety, economic stability, or convenience.
What I see as one of the largest factors is when political division is high, people may support the loss of liberties for the opposing side, not realizing that freedoms are universal and that the precedents set will eventually apply to everyone.
Look at the mutheads here saying things like they should remove their rights. Unfortunately, these individuals have been psychologically brainwashed by a party to look at the constituents in opposition, rather than the government as a whole, while allowing them to run away with your rights. It is so disheartening that individuals can be so ignorant and easily led.

The truth hurts and it’s all your fault.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

“Manufactured reality” refers to the deliberate construction of a false or misleading version of events (something I know you are aware of, having perpetuated it yourself many times), often through state-controlled media, propaganda, or AI-driven disinformation, to control public perception and behavior. Examples include deepfakes, manipulated news narratives, and, historically, the East German Stasi’s Zersetzung technique.
Currently this method is being executed on shows like CNN and Fox News. Make no mistake, these are not news outlets; they are propaganda machines to make money and promote dissent. CNN reaches roughly 573,000 people a day. Fox reaches roughly 3 million a day. This doesn’t include their online statistics, which really inflates these numbers.

Spotting propaganda requires identifying intentional manipulation designed to bypass critical thinking, often by triggering strong emotions like fear or anger, using biased language, or oversimplifying complex issues. Key red flags include urgent calls to action, demonizing opponents, lack of evidence, and logical fallacies.

Be able to “ARM” yourself with knowledge regarding these methods to effectively disseminate the facts.

Reading through this, especially noting Crocketts rights and liberties post, I suddenly recalled Walz campaigning against the rights and liberties of legal, law abiding Americans and their right to keep the most popular rifle in this country. Harris, Biden, Pritzger, Hochul, Newsome, Lamont,Healey etc…same thing. Now, all of the sudden, Walz and his lefty sheep are for rights and liberties, even if it’s just for illegals, fraudsters, and rioters.

You know darn well this is attempted deflection from the corruption going on in sanctuary cities.

Actions have consequences, and history shows they are never accidental. What we are witnessing follows the well-documented playbook of a color revolution to include engineered division, psychological and information warfare, lawfare used as a weapon, and coordinated pressure campaigns designed to exhaust the public and fracture institutions from within.

This is deliberate, organized, and strategic.

The solution is lawful, decisive leadership. The Constitution provides clear authority to restore order when coordinated efforts overwhelm state and local governments.

@POTUS has a duty to protect the nation and its citizens. It is time to demand that the President address the nation, invoke the Insurrection Act, enforce the rule of law and restore safety and stability.

Things will get worse before they get better.

I’ve said it before, there are no mistakes at that level of power, everything we see is being done as part of a well thought out and implemented plan to achieve a predesigned goal. You don’t get there by being stupid and you don’t stay there after making mistakes.

Just like Epstein, Biden & Co. sat on those files and did nothing with it, Trump is doing the same.
I still say Epstein was a spy for another country and has blackmailed the U.S. from the grave, Caymen Islands, where ever he is now.
