Nothing will change. NY will just change the standards so it will still be to hard to get a non res permit.
They will make the process and cost so crazy nobody will want to go through the BS
I hate MI politics, generally left leaning thanks to a few areas but I never thought I would say that some states make MI very pro gun.
I’m sure alot in NY do not agree with how the state will handle it but just like every blue state, big cities win.

Yeah, they’ll make it effectively impossible to get one. It’ll probably entail a multi-day in person training course that can only be had at a few difficult-to-access locations in the state, only offered at a few inconvenient times per year, then a huge fee, with a six month background check, and the need to be renewed every year, and with only one specific carry gun listed, so if you get a new gun, you have to go back to NY to have your permit updated. Oh, I just thought of another restriction. You can only qualify with your own carry gun, but you can’t bring it into NY for qualification without a permit!
Sounds about right. They are following the courts decision but by God they are gonna make sure no one is get a non res permit
Excellent article and excellent news! I have 2 questions on this:
- How was he able to get a carry permit in CT?? I know someone there and he says it’s nearly impossible to get a CCP in CT! Do you need to be an elite to get one?
- Do y’all think that this may open the door to national reciprocity?? Seems like the next step if someone was to push this over the finish line!
I sure hope. We seem to be very, very slowly inching toward that goal. It’s going to take some national laws, I expect, because even SCOTUS rulings get effectively ignored by the blue states.

Of course one of the strongholds of the “blue states” wants you to sign up voluntarily, draw you in then they have all they need to ( register ) flank you and confiscate your guns.
