Non-State Residents Can Now Obtain a NYC Concealed Carry License, WAIT WHAT?

Sadly, they’re just looking to move the blame to their own citizens.

Once you get it, I suspect the restriction would be massive:
No firearms in Bars
No firearms in restrooms
No firearms when the sun is shining
No firearms after dark
No firearms within 50 feet of a box checker
No firearms on weekends
No firearms when it’s raining
No firearms if you voted for a republican
…

All I can say is, “baby steps”.

Not to mention what would happen to you if you were a straight white republican man who shot a confused, non-white non-republican.

So a licensed NY rezident cannot carry in NYC (state licenses aren’t valid in NYC, only NYC issued licenses), but since I visit cousins there I have a valid reason to apply?

As a former rezident, who still visits family in the Upstate I cannot apply for a state carry license, but I can apply for a NYC license?

Let’s not forget all the hoops the peoples republic of new yawk make you jump through to get any cc license post Bruen.

the New York City Police Department announced

Now, what is it that they did NOT announce?

Do not forget that you are not allowed any ammo on your person. You must put in a request and a background check and wait 14 days before you can get ammo.

Just so I’m clear…a bunch of patriots could get a legal license and could go to NYC and do what the government won’t, sweep it clean? Maybe not get charged for anything, if they’re careful, and have the citizens see what the law can do for them to keep their daughters and wives safe? Doesn’t sound terrible.

This whole thing is clear as mud to me. No person can possess a handgun in NY State without a valid state issued pistol permit. The only way to get a state pistol permit is to be a resident of NY state.

So, even if NYC allows non residents to apply for a city permit, it’s still useless, because that same person will never qualify for a state permit. Do I have this right?

Is this just NYC’s way of disingenuously claiming they’re in compliance with SCOTUS, knowing it’s all a joke anyway?

Unless NYC decides to become a State.

If that happened, I’d finally be able to bring my guns and move back to Western NY (which would be a new deep red state)! Woo Hoo

It’ll never happen, though. NYC needs the rest of the state to keep funding its madness.
