Plastic model nerd.
Look for patterns called “Sew Easy” or another called “Jiffy”. Their patterns are for basic, beginner level versions of men’s and women’s casual garments. The patterns usually have fewer pieces and simplified instructions. I have several of them that I still use when I want a quick project.
I’ve found these at Walmart (if your local WM still has a sewing/craft department) and almost all of the various fabric stores.
Approach sewing like woodworking: measure twice, cut once, and don’t get your fingers where the sharp things go! You can do it.
When my daughter gets home from work I’ll have her take a picture on her good phone and I’ll post it later this evening.
Until then, my wife says she’d be happy to write a note for Mrs. Hogwash.
Great Pic, def a high shutter speed and great panning. Just highlighted the bottom of the image and see the type of Camera you used. No wonder its so awesome. Not sure if that is you behind, or in front of camera, either way very cool.
I’m new to the community so Hi everyone. Photography for me, have nice Cannon equip. Have always enjoyed both taking images and post production, although now I don’t do near as much as I used to. Mainly pics of my Grandkids, but that’s ok, they are what is most important.
I can’t draw a straight like with a ruler…I’m on the bike!
Wow, you so crazy… I had a Harley many years ago and a dirt bike but that was nothing compared to you. Kinda like comparing a stick figure drawing to a Rembrandt. My hats off to you. Bad Brad stay safe.
Cigar and Whisky.
Well, I wasn’t going to mention it because it might push buttons. I dabble into ancient church history. I enjoy apologetics, scripture, ancient church fathers. I like to research religious beliefs and where they came from. So I’m a nerd in that area. It played a very strong motivation for my conversion as well as my wife.
Here’s the promised pic. I’m wearing a linen shirt I made a week or so ago. And yes, that’s MY sewing machine in the background, one of the seven or eight I have. Not my wife’s…she hates it. She sews on a 120 year old Singer treadle powered model.
Good enough?
Damn. That looks better than what’s at stores.
My house turned 100 last year and was non-owner occupied for a decade before we bought it so upgrading & maintaining take a good chunk of my “free” time.
My wife is one of those loony people who think running 26.2 miles is fun. My knees are too bad to join her but we do get to travel around the country for her various races. It’s always nice to have an excuse to travel.
I play a few different board / strategy games & paint the miniatures and accessories used for them.
I clean the lint filter in the dryer😀
Formerly big on boats, cruising, sailing, whitewater canoeing and canoe poling. Traded 18 boats for 22 guns it seems. Newly retired thanks to the aviation downturn, into wood cutting/splitting, big on exercise, home based health and nutrition, just rebuilt a deck, painted some rooms and re-pavered a walkway. Bought a motorhome, have done one trip(9 states) to see my son/look at real estate so far, wife wants to see Arizona next, so I’m thinking doing a big loop for a month or two this fall.
That’s amazing. Perhaps we could be your customers…
Sounds like a very Zen activity. If only I could get my wife to do it when I’m away on work trips;)
I had a 19th century house, once. Loved that house. It stayed pretty comfortable in the Summer because it was built before air conditioning. We just opened up the transoms and let the heat escape through the attic, as designed. And it was easy to work on, like an antique car. Unfortunately, FEMA wouldn’t let me keep it.
Sounds like a preamble to a tragic boat accident story, where you lost all your guns before ATF could take them. ![]()
Thanks
…maybe it was 18 guns for 22 boats…I dunno, I’m old and easily cornfused
I have that hobby, too! Two times over.
