Not what I said or even implied. Carry where you will. However, their rights do not trump ours nor do ours trump theirs. I think the point is being obscured by the political climate where in they are trying to erode our rights. In that sense, I agree there may need to be some justified push back on our part.
That’s how it should be.
I agree, up to the point of ‘push back’.
Political push back yes, but push back against business owners?
That push back is the loss of business as I take my business and money to other businesses that are more friendly to firearms.
Yes, there is a political climate, and some, even on here, seem to think their rights are superior and they will carry everywhere, no matter what the rights of others are, or what a property owner has decided he will allow on his property.
Push back by voting out the leftist politicians, push back by demanding the Constitution be adhered to by the federal, state and local governments, but any ‘push back’ that is disrespecting the rights of others and demanding ours be superior is simply wrong.
Not sure what your point is.
I am not in any way under threat of being charged with any federal charge.
Perhaps you were directing the comment to another?
Yeah, as usual, refer to your state laws. I forget sometimes not everyone is in Texas. Some states may only require the simple “no guns” sign.
We won’t need equalizer. We’re family with the same goals. I carry. At times, intentionally or not, in areas others would prefer I not. Oh well. Doesn’t diminish their right to ask me not to. If I’m doing it right, and all goes safely, they’ll never have the need to question me.
No, I quoted the entirety of the post.
That doesn’t mean they will listen. You can call the police just like a shop owner can.
We do have laws, but anyone can not obey them. Freedom of choice is not governed by laws. If that was the case, there would be no crime.
No I caught it. That’s okay. Still family. Can’t wait to meet all of you!
Would you not be considered self centered because you value your life over another?
While condemned for their actions, we are still carrying to prevent loss of life. An unloaded gun is a paperweight, and a gun left in the car is pointless in self defense.
In my state, a no guns sign is simply that, and not enforceable by law, unless you are asked to leave and then you are trespassing and if you do not leave, the police are called.
That does not change the fact the business owner, or the property owner has their rights, and we have the freedom to choose to secure our firearm and enter, or to freely choose to go to another business.
Or we do have the other option of being complete a holes and disregarding their rights and simply acting in a disrespectful and rude manner.
So to sum up my position…
I am willing to pay a $200 fine if needed. To not pay the fine would be illegal.
The $200 is NOTHING in comparison to what could happen to me and the ones I love if the situation warrants me defending against an attack. It"s called “the lesser of two evils”.
Let’s ask am Attorney for his view on my stance. @MikeBKY … your thoughts? Not legal advice… just thoughts
True, and as I said, we have options, and freedom.
We can freely choose to secure our firearm and enter the establishment, or we can freely choose to go to another business that is more firearm friendly…or we can simply be A-holes, and ignore the signs, ignore and disrespect the business owner, their rules, their property, their rights and act all superior and self entitled (sounds like a leftist).
Speak for yourself. Not “we”.
Time for bed. An early breakfast with my pastor at a restaurant where open carry gets you a 10% discount. Yep… he carries too.
Gotta love Texas. I do.
As I stated in the other reply, we have freedom to choose.
We can choose to respect the rights and rules of the business we would like to enter… and secure our firearm,
We can choose to respect the rights and rules of others and continue to exercise our rights and carry, and go to another establishment that is more firearm friendly,
or
We can choose to be A-holes and disregard the signs, the rules, the rights of the business owner and simply enter and risk being told to leave.
I prefer to go to another establishment, but if I must enter the gun free business, I will secure my firearm, just as I must do when I go to the courthouse or some other government building… where it is law to not carry.
Anything can happen between where I park my vehicle, and the building, the same as going to and from a gun free business.
It is a choice we all must make, option 1, option 2 or option 3 the A-hole option.
If the choice fits, you might just qualify.
Again.
Good Bye!
That seems an awful lot like the pot calling the kettle black…
I still vaguely remember you saying @TexasEskimo was the worst kind of firearm owner… seems kind of a-hole-esque. Especially since he seems to enjoy helping people ![]()
So, his choice to enter a business, disregarding their rules, their rights, just to be superior, to demand his rights while denying the rights of others, is perfectly acceptable to you?
Think of it in another way.
Do you like your rights disrespected and denied? Do you like others to do as they please? On your property?
I do not know where you live, but if you live in a rural area, and have land, do you allow strangers to hunt on your land? Without permission?
Would you appreciate strangers coming onto your property, hunting, leaving trash, or camping or anything, disregarding your rights to your property? What if you had posted signs, no trespassing signs, no hunting signs,
It seems, some here think they have the right to do as they please, so, would you accept others doing as they please on your property, regardless of what you decide the rules are on your property?
By the way, if someone disrespects the rights of others, think they are superior or their rights are superior to others, they are the worst, they give a bad name, as it does not take many like that to create the wrong impression about firearms owners.
Same here. Now on the posting of “no guns”. If said company’s conviction are such that they don’t allow firearms, and they truely have a strong stance against it, they should follow the law and post proper signage if they expect us to take their conviction seriously. Simply putting up a red circle with a line through it to me is proof they have a half hearted personal stance. Their lack of effort to know the law only supports the fact they lack any type of REAL education on firearms and the possession of them. Just weak minded virtue signaling to attract a specific clientele. The same clientele that would not know a 30.06 sign if it hit them in the face, so the business goes with “no guns” to show how woke the are. So for me if a business can’t take the time to follow procedures, I probably won’t take the time to secure my firearm in the car. Now proper signage is a different matter, and I will respect that business’s rights to LEGALLY dissuade me from carrying, either by not patronizing them or leaving my firearm behind.
No I would not appreciate someone trashing my land, but I don’t think a pistol in my boot is comperable. However, if I carry into a shop with a 30.06 sign, and someone decides to knock over that shop and shoot the owner, I think he would be greatful that he’s not bleeding out while the cops are on the way. I have oc’d in a store that had a 30.07 sign, but the sign did not meet the legal requirements. They asked if I saw the sign, and I took a minute to pull up the legal requirements for the sign. The cops came, I wasn’t arrested, the shop manager thanked me, and took the sign down and made a new one. I will carry into a store with a 30.06 sign, but if you know I have my firearm, we are about have a bigger problem because it’s in a boot with jeans pulled over…
