As I mentioned, I already have Constitutional carry. Why would I push to go backwards? Perhaps the inhabitants of 21 states should push to join the other 29. There’s a lot to support CC, including the fact that the least crime ridden states in the country (NH, VT) are CC.
My state is also constitutional carry and I have a concealed carry permit as well to be able to carry in states that have reciprocity with mine. You’ve made it clear you won’t help other states to recognize your carry permit so there’s no reason for you to beleaguer your point.
Thank you for your comments.
my not-so-smart phone
We have more than half the states that enacted some form of Permitless Constitution Carry but, the other half who have not:
What we seek is NATIONAL RECIPROCITY, why not enlist all the states arguing for this on the floor citing that their constituents have voiced their favor for it, why not give it a better unanimous chance vs. a simple majority.
The states that recognize my permits I’m fine with. The ones that don’t can go eff themselves. I had enough living behind enemy lines, and they (NY,CT,MA,NJ etc.) will not comply with any pro 2a policy. I can guarantee that. They’ve only gotten worse with pro 2a scotus decisions. I made my choice to move, support my local rights group (wvcdl) and still don’t understand why I’d advocate to go backwards.
Pushing for national CC I’d be on board with, if only to give the Murphy’s, Blumenthals, Healey’s and Lamont’s of the world a conniption.
That sounds nifty, but it is not true in every state that issues a concealed carry license or permit. For instance, in Tennessee the training requirement for a Basic permit is at least 90 minutes.
The wide variation in requirements for carry permits from one state to another has been one of the blocks to universal reciprocity.
Folks, if your Congress Critters’ staffs realize your letters include demonstrably incorrect information as part of the argument (the modern term is misinformation) the request may not simply be ignored, it may set back the movement.
Had the very response from Richard Blumenthal 8 or so years back, and yeah, it was a good point he had if one is looking at this from a non constitutional perspective. The training requirements can vary widely, and the money grab as well.
Chris Murphy was just rabid in his response lol. I’ve “been there done that” with pushing gun rights. Now I’m tired and have no faith in most political critters.
Is it true he thinks people call him Dick because his name is Richard?
It is done, I have emailed my Congressman, and two Senators requesting their support for National Concealed Carry Reciprocity.
Both Senators had an email format on their websites all I had to do was change their names and paste my letter in.
ing the block that I was a human, and hit the send tab.
My Congressman had a separate outreach email address that I pasted into my email app.
Worth the time and effort I hope like voting for a new president that thankfully we got for our time and effort.
Now time will tell on this issue.
Okay, that part I can get onboard with. Some of the other sentiments were concerning though. As a CA lifetime resident, I’ve seen the nonsense that starts in CA, MA, NY, etc., get copied at the Federal level (e.g. “assault weapons” bans) or even spread to other states when the political winds shift. The strategy of I’m okay in my state so eff other states isn’t a winning strategy. But I’d be more onboard with national CC than with a concept of reciprocity. Reciprocity is akin to having my permit in CA and thinking I’ll be treated the same in San Francisco as I would in my home town should an incident occur.
Not sure. He was flattered when I called him Rambo lol, then he told me about hanging with Chuck Norris in the Delta
I am preaching to the choir here in Tennessee as we our a mostly solid conservative GOP trifecta among our U.S. and Tennessee representatives, several of our largest municipalities have a different political demographic in their population. But, they are decidedly outnumbered elsewhere.
But, why not let them all know how their constituents feel on this matter so that they can feel confident saying that their constituents support this issue, so they do too.
Having lived in CT for many decades, and watching the surrounding states as well, I’ve noted those governments impose more restrictions any time SCOTUS made a pro 2a move.
It’s not “eff those states” as some here think I’m saying, it’s simply awareness that the Newsoms of country respond with legalese hissy fits and set rights backwards when threatened.
It wasn’t easy to move, but when I inherited my son’s guns and decided not to follow CT’s new re-registration laws for my guns that had been legal when I bought or built them I told my wife it’s either “a new house in a free state, or a defense fund.”
At present a lot of state permits have 38 state reciprocity. The other states are Dicks, and will remain Dicks no matter what the SCOTUS decides.
Like I mentioned, since Bruen, NY has gotten worse, CT and MA got way worse, iirc VT instituted mag limits, WA got stupid…so, there ya’ go.
First response in less than an hour from one of my Senators…
The other Senator and Congressional Representative will also send an automated acknowledgment typically soon also…

She types fast
She has a staff and automated reply acknowledgments sent out immediately.
There may be a holiday weekend delay from the other two but, I expect the same from them also, an auto reply initially.
I noticed that she filled that Request for National Reciprocity under Continued Support for 2A Rights as her category.
Like I said in TN we in the 2A community are preaching to the choir.
We got our Permitless Carry statewide approved July 1, 2021, and recognize the 48 contingent states.
We have our premises recognized by about 3-dozen other states.
It’s just those others that we be need to get on board.
Hopefully, this term we will see that happen.
Yeah, I was looking for a house in TN right before CC went into effect, and the realtor mentioned it as part of her sales pitch. I was looking at Crossville as they have Fall Creek Falls SP and Dead Zero shooting range… priorities. Came up short but head to Barry54’s place near Murfreesboro on occasion.
Whole different way of life than in the northeast. My stress meter doesn’t chirp anymore.
That is for sure in parts here about.
Moved here to occupy our new house December 2021.
Zero regrets!
No going back.
Family members that lagged have since joined us.
Wife and I spent years looking…FL panhandle, NC, VA,TN,GA .,…passing through WV. My son had moved to the Chattanooga area. Then we took a vacation here in WV before heading to the obx. My wife felt real relaxed, and good “chi” lol …my ‘aha’ moment was realizing the biggest city is about 50k people. Seems crap spreads from cities…plus it’s just beautiful here. Spent two months over two years looking around this state and finally found a place that fit.got a paved road and internet woo hoo Looking for more land/cabin now, but no pressure. Got a few million acres of national forests close by which keeps me happy.
All better than any northern coastal blue state. Anytime you can move to a red state that’s a big improvement.
I just got my second auto acknowledgment to my other US Senator from TN that he received my email from 2-days ago:
