Just finished “signing” the petition to the newly elected representatives for our country. This is being shared with the idea that maybe some members don’t realize they can edit or add to the letter, so rather than simply “signing” and clicking send, the following is what this member recently sent. Most of the letter is from the original form, but some points were raised this member considered important to add, they have been put in bold for your convenience. Here is what was sent in it’s entirety, feel free to copy and paste if you find this helpful. Hope y’all have a great Thanksgiving holiday.
I am writing to urge you to stand firmly in support of the millions of responsible gun owners across the country who rely on their Second Amendment rights for personal safety and liberty. I’m sure you are aware in order to obtain a concealed carry permit the permit holder has gone through background checks and fingerprinting as well as eight hours of classroom education along with firing their handgun on a range as testament they are proficient with their firearm. Also, most concealed carry permit holders are trained in deescalation in any circumstance. You should know, using their firearm to protect and defend themselves or another human being is a last resort.
As you begin working with the new administration, I ask that you uphold the constitutional right to bear arms and resist any measures that would restrict this fundamental freedom, such as proposed bans on commonly owned firearms. It should be made common knowledge that the moniker AR does not mean “assault rifle” but rather is the initials of the name of the originator of the platform; Armalite Rifle.
The 2024 election demonstrated that Americans are deeply concerned about preserving their right to self-defense. In an era where personal and community safety has become a significant priority, it is more important than ever that responsible, law-abiding citizens retain access to the tools needed to protect themselves and their families. This is why a National Concealed Carry Reciprocity act is the intelligent way to ensure the safety of our citizens, your constituents.
Thank you for continuing to stand up for the rights that matter most and congratulations on your preferment to your office.

That said there is one thing I would say.
Using the firearm to protect and defend the lives of themselves or another human being is a last resort.

@Jeffrey246 Very well done!! So, does this letter “National Concealed Carry Reciprocity” go to all the representatives in every State across the country (Red and Blue States)? As we all know, the anti gun groups won’t be on board when they see this letter, and will come up with some other agenda to throw a monkey wrench at it. But, hey the 2A Is our RIGHT and we will fight for ALL our Rights.
Everything written in the letter was already there except the parts I put in bold type. This letter can be copy/pasted over the original letter. When you “sign” it, you add your name and address, this will automatically send it to your federal representative(s). The letter will go to both newly elected and already sittings reps. There was a banner regarding 2A stuff on the home page when I logged in this morning, if it doesn’t show on your home page I guess it’s a fluke (?). I believe that national reciprocity is a good idea and I admire your activism on this. However, be realistic. This is a Republican Congress and a Republican administration that is and will be consumed with social issues, like bathroom rules and men in women’s sports, so I doubt whether they will ever enact national reciprocity. I hope I’m wrong, but history suggests that I am not.
