Medical Gear steps up

Virginia has a good Samaritan law, thank God. I looked it up some time ago. I would help someone anyway, but am very glad to be supported by statute.

It is to bring up our training isn’t fool proof. Just cause you put a tourniquet on someone doesn’t mean they’re going to live. If you perform any first aid, write down the time and date of incidents, what you initially seen, what you were trained to do, and how did you apply your training to this individual.

Just a report. If you get sued, take your report and take it to a lawyer.

I am a big fan of quick clot bandages. Last summer I tripped in the garage and while falling, tried to open my tool box with my nose. It didn’t work and I had an impressive gash on the bridge of my nose. Quick clot bandages quickly fixed the flow of blood until the doc in the ER ripped off my handiwork and started the bleeding again. He had to use 4 steristrips to stop it after his tender ministrations…

Did you ask the doctor where he was trained? :joy:

Reason why I refuse to go to the doctors unless I’m dying, my wife is an RN and we have extensive supplies and knowledge. We do have disagreements about it but most times we don’t go. The one time I did go I was having a minor heart attack.

At a minimum, everyone should take a Stop the Bleed course. This could be found by going to the website

Not to be a contrarian, but anybody can find a shyster lawyer and for under a thousand dollars which the shyster will gladly front, to be deducted from the settlement (notice the word ā€œsettlementā€ instead of judgment) file a complaint in court and once a complaint is filed in court you MUST respond otherwise shyster will get a default judgment for everything he desired unless it is so exorbitant even the compliant judge will draw a line. It sucks but that is life today in certain states, especially the one I am trapped in by familial circumstances. Remember: no good deed goes unpunished. Look at Neu Yawk as a perfect example where the white knight got indicted by a liberal DA.

My wife had been in the same ER a week prior and I had already dealt with him. He is a contract ER doc who works for somebody else who has the contract to provide ER services to the hospital. The hospital only provides support personnel, janitors, food prep (also probably contracted out) and other auxiliary personnel. He is not a perfect rectum but if there were a rectal world completion, he certainly would be a contender for a medal.

I purchased the powder quick clot. I hope I never have to use it and I hope if I need it, it will work as good as yours. Great job sir and a true Patriot!

We also keep the powder in our deer cooler and butcher house and hunting camp cabin. Just a suggestion for people around razor sharp knifes, arrows, guns and more. Thanks and stay safe and remember a razor sharp knife is a safe knife.
