Well Kurtis, I don’t know where you get your news, but from everything I hear and read, it’s basically the very platform of the current Democrat Party of America to further control firearms access to law-abiding citizens of the United States of America - clearly in opposition to the U.S. Constitution.
I feel badly for people who can’t see that every infringement imposed upon us is another step toward complete control. And complete control is exactly what the Democrats are all about. Surely anyone who stopped and took a look at where we are today, and compared it to where we were even 50 years ago, can see where we’ll be in another 50 years (if not sooner) if the course is not changed.
To answer your “question”, it doesn’t matter whether any U.S. citizen, normal or otherwise, “needs” a fully automatic assault rifle - like Greg35 implied, it requires special licensing and big bucks to do so, anyway, so very few can afford it. The point is that it is our inherent right as human beings to possess and carry firearms and the 2nd Amendment guarantees that right shall not be infringed by the Government.
It matters not the type of firearm we “need” or want - it’s our right to own it. Period. Personally, I currently don’t feel the “need” for me to own a fully automatic firearm, but I’m sure there are others who do feel this need. Should our government ever happen to turn on it’s people with deadly force, then my needs may change. Fight fire with fire, as they say. However, if I could afford it and could afford to actually use it, I would “want” one.
This right is granted by our Maker and it exists for whatever reason any Citizen decides to exercise it. Some reasons - in no specific order: (1) protecting ourselves and our loved ones from the violent criminal element, (2) defense of our Nation, (3) protection (and insurance) against a tyrannical government, (4) hunting, (5) sport, (6) fun, (7) collecting… I’m sure I’ve overlooked something, but you get my drift, right?
A “need” is perceived by the person who feels that need, and is not open for anyone else to decide for that person.
As a law-abiding citizen, I have the right to possess any firearm which I perceive that I want or need - just as every other law-abiding citizen has their respective right to want or need something different. It’s not for me to say you don’t need something you believe you need, just because I don’t feel like I need the same thing - vise versa.
Me - I feel I currently have the “need” to own whatever it may take to stop an aggressive violent attack against my loved ones or myself. As the criminal element in our society becomes more emboldened and better armed, so my needs are adjusted. I know fully well there are others who disagree, and that is their right, and I’ll not condemn them for their beliefs. But it is not their right to try to prevent me from exercising my rights.

I honestly do not feel the need to own a fully automatic it costs to much. If SHTF and I do need one, I am very sure I will be able to pick on up off the ground.

Why in the hell should I NOT have an automatic firearm…after 24 years in the military (4 years Navy, 20 years OANG…16 of those active Guard), I still find no valid reason why “normal” (whatever that means) U.S. citizens would or should be exempt from any automatic firearm.
Quit using an action (assault) to describe firearms. It is an illiterate term used out of passion for fear and control ideologies.
The fact that you and others are asking that specific question tells me exactly why we “normal” U.S. citizens need automatic firearms.

There should be no confusion whatsoever as to the underlying root cause of all of these “safety measures” as well as the intended end result. There’s a group of men, 6 to 8, whose goal is total world domination, one world government. This is something they and their predecessors have been working on for generations. They have been gradually making changes throughout the world to that end.

These videos are being removed shortly after being posted.

I received a link from a highly reliable source about a youtube recording of people in the White House during a press meeting who were caught on an open mic saying, “You don’t need the mask, this is all a hoax.” I never saw it because it was removed.
But do not believe me, do your own research, search wide, dig deep, the truth is out there.

What does a normal US citizen ‘need’ with 2 or 3 cars, or 1 with 1000+ horsepower? yet how many have that or more?
The only things anyone ‘needs’ are food, shelter, water, and air.
Automatic or otherwise, it ain’t the gun its the shooter.
Who here thinks an egghead with an automatic that does a spray and prey with a few mags can take more lives than a skilled shooter in a tactical position with a bolt action rifle?
Truth is using a vehicle as a weapon in a crowd would be just a devastating, or possibly more so, than a spray and prey. It just isnt as easily dramatized by the ratings seeking sensationalist that call themselves reporters.

Even if the government took all the guns from the people (won’t ever happen), you
do realize that those vicious - murdering scum would still have guns. With the
population unarmed, the death rate would soar quickly. Australians did turn in their
guns, then they had daring daylight break-ins with teams of 3 or 4 badguys. Now
the Aussie’s are working on rearming themselves. My 2 cents.
