I got this knife for my mom’s birthday present. She needed a knife to take along when she goes horseback riding. I made the knife sheath and covered it in bees wax to keep it water resistant.

Those are bad assed!

I have my doubts about their cutting ability vs paper as functional scissors given the quick disassembly feature….

I might be surprised,…

Maybe @BeanCounter can provide an intervention so I can test them!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

This bean counter got curious and googled knife stats.

Imported knives, as expected, China (\$467 million) topped the list, followed by Chinese Taipei (\$62 million), Germany (\$46.2 million), Japan (\$45.7 million), and Vietnam (\$43.7 million)

Exports to Canada (\$57.1 million), Germany (\$15.2 million), Mexico (\$13.8 million), Australia (\$8.44 million), and the United Kingdom (\$7.19 million)

Got this one this morning, Houge Deka. Just a pocket knife, first “clip” type I’ve owned. $194.00 on the Houge site.

I’ve never owned a knife costing that much.

As a chef, I have knives worth $350.00. I have a whole kitchen drawer full of knives that cost over $100.00 each knife. Sharpness is key to a knife. Dull knives are dangerous. Good knives stay sharp longer than cheap knives. A sharp knife is an essential tool in any kitchen, whether for professional chefs or home cooks. Its importance extends beyond culinary efficiency, affecting safety, food quality, and the overall cooking experience. the importance of a sharp knife cannot be overstated. It enhances safety, efficiency, and food quality, while reducing fatigue and elevating the overall cooking experience. Regular maintenance, such as honing and proper storage, is essential to keep knives sharp and ready for use. Investing time and care in sharpening your knives will pay dividends in both the quality of your meals and your enjoyment of cooking.
