Just an observation from the peanut gallery. @Steven288 What you’re doing in the post I just highlighted, in a debate. Is called an “Appeal to Authority”. Where you try to position yourself as an expert. It is and has been noted, quite frequently I might add, that it is an intellectually dishonest tactic.
There was a story a number of years ago, in my local paper, about a perp that killed one guy, badly sliced another and almost sliced-off the arm of the third. The assailant had a knife and the other handguns. It was CBQ, and the knife-wielder survived uninjured. The other two that survived had run away after being attacked, so weren’t served a lethal blow as the third one did. It was an apparent drug deal that went bad. So, yes, a knife can be very effective if the person knows how to use it well.
It really can. Especially, I would guess, when you are up close (as in, dealing with someone) and spring it as a surprise attack. Not something I want any part of
If I had my druthers (who says that anymore?)
I would prefer dying of old age in my own bed! (obviously)
But in a fight if bad guy(s) have knives they are a Threat (obviously)
and that threat is to be terminated asap BEFORE they get in ‘Bad Breath range!’–(I love that!)
If I had a choice I would rather be shot, as you state clearly knives are
unbelievably nasty, Gunshots while suck can be plugged !
that is why I carry Quik-Clot bandage–plug the hole(s)
but that forearm lengthwise gives me shivers.
I got sliced (kinda stabbed
) just like that a couple of months ago but I was wearing some Kevlar ‘sleeves’ best $20 I ever spent.
I got a GROOVE down my arm and it still hurt, here and there broke skin but no puncture.
I kicked his Testies into his throat! NICE! down like a sack (
) of potatoes’!
You can’t stem the flow of a slice with your hands and will you have enough time to TQ? As you stated.
Time is against you in a fight anyway. Act Accordingly.
USCCA Certified Instructor here at Shot Tec, LLC in SE PA. While any use of any weapon will warrant “splainin to do;” here’s one points of why are knives are completely valid:
One of the four firearm rules according to USCCA is “Awalys be sure of your target, and know what’s in front and behind it.” So in any crowded place where you are attacked, the firearm may be a terrible option. Right in the USCCA powerpoint it cites a study of NYPD having a nasty track record of friendly fire via pass throughs which is why it advocates for proper ammo selection but with knives we don’t have to worry about pass-throughs and what is beyond our target in that sense. Knives are an excellent and safe option to neutralize and attacker at extremely close range in a crowded environment.
