Sounds cool when you say it, but 90% of those who were murdered on that day were Elementary School age children. My ability to own a firearm did nothing for them, nor did any adult living around the school who owned firearms. Gun ownership will never prevent a school shooting, gun owners who are willing to regulate their own can. We are talking about the individual who committed this crime even though those who knew him nicknamed him “School Shooter” before he even did it. The guy who murdered a bunch of kids and was known as “School Shooter” was able to legally buy a firearm and use it on those children. Now I am not blaming the system here, but I am going to ask why there was absolutely no way to prevent a guy with the nickname “School Shooter” from buying a firearm. Some may argue with me that just because you make obscene online posts about murdering others that it should not prohibit you from purchasing a firearm, but I disagree.

Correct, they are there to uphold the law

I expected that. It is sad, but I think that back then (nearly 4 years ago)…many people, cop or not, would not have been on their game. Not sure if anything has changed. There have been a lot of school shooting where nothing at all was done in the first minutes.

What upsets me the most was, IIRC, parents/defenders were prevented from providing help. Or, was I referring to another incident?

You will not find individuals here willing to subscribe to this way of thinking at all; they are constantly talking about killing someone and that it is somehow justified. These are true patriots after all.
Yet they can still buy guns. They are somehow normal with these thoughts.
These individuals are somehow disillusioned by the facts; this renders them not unlike the person that shot Charlie Kirk.

You are correctly referring to this very incident!

It could, at least have a better chance of doing so, if we didn’t stupidly ban guns from schools as if that’s going to stop the murderers. Making sure nobody there can shoot back and saying teachers, faculty, and staff cannot be trusted around kids doesn’t help this. Neither does spending money generally as a society to protect money and jewelry and businesses and famous people but not being willing to spend that money to have armed protection for kids.

Granted this is still statistically an extremely rare thing and kids are still safer at school than probably anywhere else they ever are, so, perspective

1, Who gave him that nickname, when, and who was aware of that nickname, how?

  1. What crime had he broken prior to acquiring a firearm?
  2. What do you propose that, without infringing on the Right to keep and bear arms, would prevent such a person from ever being able to obtain a firearm legally?

Not to mentions, A nickname could be said to fall in the “Freedom of Speech” realm…

More like to investigate crimes than to enforce laws.

I see this as having nothing to do where the incident happened. This is predicated on whether or not a person will act in the face of danger. This guy could have been outside your business, church, or home, and if they feel it’s too dangerous to intervene they have no obligation to do so. In other words, the court has just confirmed what most of us already feel; we and only we are our own first responders. Don’t get me wrong, I have family members in law enforcement and I have the utmost respect. They are not this guy. But this does speak to the fact a black and white out front doesn’t mean the cavalry has arrived.

Yeah. Kind of think you missed the point.

Jenny was not a good person. Man, what a great movie.

Agreed, she’s the villain of the film.

That’s what’s terrible about this incident. Failure to respond and then preventing others from “handling” the matter—at their own personal risk. Why? Protocol?
