Hi Fiz, update on Costco sunglasses…I was at Costco yesterday with the mrs, looked at their sunglasses, they are great for the price. OH and by the way, had to wear their operating room mask, I did a funny face on mine, but they are not rated as safety.
They required you to wear a mask to get in?!
Yes Costco is requiring mask. They were giving them away, stopping everyone at door. All were kind, and polite. It was like going into a huge sterile operating room. I kept complaining, and my mrs told me to put up with it. I am a renegade anyways, but I complied. HOWEVER they are limiting meat sales to 3 packages. Costco meat is some of the best in our area. We picked up some hamgurger, but our freezer is full of meat, elk, etc.
As a renegade, the thought crossed my mind, to come up with a way cool, not offensive mask, and open carry in Costco. Somewhat of a gangster/old biker dude mask. JUST TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD SAY TO ME! Maybe a western attire, boots with spurs, maybe rub some horse s$$$ on me. When we work in Elko, NV., many of the Bask ranchers wear their daily work attire to town for eats, supplies, etc. We see many of them, many open carry firearms. When we visit Cody, WY, many open carry, many ranchers. Open carry in Cody, WY., may be a way of life. One can even go into the museum carrying a firearm, but it must be concealed.
Funny, this whole post sounds like it could be me! And my wife (The Voice of Reason) would say the same thing.
Meat shortage? Are they kidding me? We have a fellow down the county road from us that raises cows. He would gladly sell us a cow, if we needed. What is the next shortage? Ill start a shortage…since you and I drink coffee…next shortage COFFEE! BUT WAIT…beer, aw yes beer is the next shortage. Sneezy, get stocked up on beer!
Stupid stuff!!!
In our small town, many times in Costco, many people see friends or families or co-workers. A lot of times we run into people we haven’t seen in a while. Nice to have a conversation to catch up on. Yesterday, at Costco, we witnessed several people visiting with each other, etc. Of course in a personal conversational setting, we witnessed the masks come off. The mrs was on a run to get our shopping done, and we didn’t have time to visit with the natives. Went to the local ranch supply store saturday to get some sprayer parts, they were busier than busy. Hobby Lobby is in the same area, and heck they were busy. Stopped by homedepot, couldn’t hardly find a parking place. Maybe sprayer parts is the next shortage!
@SKIdaho - For months I have gone to Menards and Costco without a mask. Now all of a sudden in May we are required to wear a mask.
SO, I asked my wife to make me a mask to wear. I normally would not wear a MAGA hat because I don’t want to get beat up, but for some reason I have been triggered when told I have to wear a mask, so I am now going to wear a MAGA mask whenever I go to a place that requires me to wear one. You can buy them on line for $18 but I was cheap and made my own.
The mask will probably cause arguments, but it just drives me crazy that through March and April there was no problem with not wearing a mask. A lot of stores were packed with people not wearing masks and now all of a sudden I can’t get in a store without one. This is my rebellion I guess.
Rebellion? Yes rebellion masks!!! I always carry a marker in my pocket and drew a funny face on my mask with a mustache…maybe there is a retirement career, drawing on people’s masks at Costco! I wonder if I drew “Joey” on the mask for the mrs, if I could get some new cuss words out of her? Gives me an idea…
@SKIdaho - can you do this voluntarily, right now. Make all people happy Costco shoppers !
I am not an artist…Thanks…Ill draw it…gotta go and get a prescription today at coscto…I have grey hair/stash, so will make it grey…yup that will work!!!
But wait!!! You could sell them and retire???
Jerzy, how bout a mask with a cool firearm? Set up in parking lots and sell masks, custom made? Wow gives me a retirement idea!!!
I could wear my puka shells, Hawaiian shirt, jap flaps, and carry EDC. Styling man, styling!!! (I could look like magnum PI, just a little shorter,)
@SKIdaho - it’s a great idea… Mister Shorter Magnum PI
Actually most of mask face online stores have custom design masks. However… and who knows why…
… there is no "pro2A " masks…
Can you draw this?
And then there’s this.
No wonder Kentucky gets a bad name! But there’s the next new word to be added to the disctionary Covidiot!
I will let my daughter have a crack at it, she is a good artist. The picture reminds me of a diaper! LOL
Give me another retirement idea, pro2a diapers???
I have a confession to make ok? I wear contacts, and always have for many years. Luckily one eye is corrected for distance, and the other is corrected for reading, however sometimes cheaters are needed. This morning I needed to install a new pair as wear them for 2 weeks. Had the packages of contacts on the counter bathroom with the prescription on a small card marked what contact went into what eye. The problem is, I need to put the correct lens in the proper eye, as my eyes are trained for shooting, sight alignment, etc. One of our kitty cats has played a trick this morning, and went on a frolic and chewed up the card with my prescription. Of course, no I did not have the packages marked, as a dork, as my wife calls me. OK, called the eye doctor to get a prescription copy, no answer, I don’t know if he is on shut down or vacation, or retired. Now I thought I would self experiment, since my MBA was in mixology, or as Ozzy Osborn says “self medicated.” The feline felon, who’s name is dirty snow, has packed off my contact packages. We’ll call it a “batting” type feline frolic. I cant find them. I did question the feline, but received a cross eyed stare. I guess I’ll wear the old pair while the search continues!
edited update…Now the “rest of the story” as Paul Harvey would say…I cant find an old pair or “the pair”. Whiskey, tango, foxtrot. The optometrist called back, he is in Mexico, however he enjoyed the feline felon story. He emailed the eyeglass counter at Costco, so am preparing a mask with some type of artistic drawing, and will pickup some new contacts in a bit.
Was just having lunch and noticed MY FAVORITE COFFEE MUG HAS A CRACK! My favorite every day mug…oh my hell! The mrs handed me a can of flex seal spray! No sympathy.
Fizbin! WE have a coffee problem!!!
I marvel at the number of people wearing masks on their mouth or chin, and not over their nose. Many are employees of companies thar mandate face masks. It’s definitely not just a Kentucky thing.
I think I may just start wearing one like a bonnet! I wonder if my old Nomex hood from the FD would protect against the virus. It helped keep ears warm in the cold and your head cool in a fire.
