Instructors or Becoming an Instructor in North Carolina

Actually, I attended a USCCA event in Charlotte, NC Tuesday evening, where local attorneys answered questions around the legalities of CC in NC. At that
event I spoke with Jake Hurley, who is the outside Sales Rep for USCCA in NC about the fact that NC does not recognize USCCA training for CWP. So USCCA is aware of the situation and is working with state legislators to get that corrected. In the meantime if you would like to take the USCCA Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 course, I live in the Charlotte area and would be glad to run you through the one day live fire course.

Cesar6,
I haven’t forgotten you. I just been trying to nail down a good outdoor range for the DSF Level 1 course. Would you be able to take the class which is an 8 hr class during the week? Also I usually try to schedule at least 3 students for a class. So if you know others that would like to take the class, let me know.

I would be able to, I would just need at least a week notice to request days off, and I can ask around, see if anyone else is interested in my area.

Completed my first CCW course in my home town (Greenville, NC). A full 10hr day of classroom training and range. It was a dry run with friends to get honest feedback and work out timing and logistics. Had to be at the range at a specific time, so I had to switch up my normal routine (2hr legal brief plus written tests and grading).

How the hell local instructors charge $65 for what’s easily a 10-12hr beats the hell out of me! My back and feet hurt for 2 days afterwards! LOL! No more complaining about the MD HQL class (4hr) for me.

Jerry, and all at national USCCA HQ…we need an update here in NC and especially the NW part of the state, in the region directly surrounding Asheville NC ( connecting counties). As a former career LEO/MIL Vet, I find it lacking that were missing current info here in the last 4+ years… Thank you…
