We in the 2A community have long stated that the right to bear arms is, in part, to protect against government tyranny. As General_Consensus pointed out in a separate post, there are those who would argue that modern tyranny evolves gradually. There has been enough reporting of abuses (ex. Detaining US citizens without due process) to conclude this is not an aberration, but that that evolution may actually be happening. There are those on other platforms beginning to wonder, in light of this development, why the 2A community has remained silent. If recent incidents they sight donât rise to the level of tyranny, what does? At what point should the 2A community speak up? Is it acceptable to stay silent simply because that tyrannical behavior is not directed at us? Isnât tyranny against one tyranny against all? If the tyranny they claim is happening becomes entrenched, will it be too late to speak up if it becomes directed at us? Alot of questions to ponder here. Thoughts?
Is this to be laid at the feet of 2A proponents only? I think not. It is my duty/right to protect myself and my own, not everyone else.
We were one election away from losing our country. It is be hard to me to accept that anyone doesnât believe that after all that has been uncovered in the last 12 months. Theyâd have to be ignorant or lying.

My gripe with gun owners is, rightly or wrongly, i observe they donât always show up come election time.

Letâs start here: How many US citizens have been detained without due process and over what period of time?
Amen to that. Virginia is a prime example of that and weâre gonna pay this next 4 years.
Being detained by law enforcement, regardless of citizenship status, is not an example of the circumvention of âdue processâ.
Those asking why we arenât speaking up cite the 2A communities emphasis on liberty and bearing arms to confront tyrannical behavior and government over-reach. I canât argue that there arenât instances of government agents currently stretching the limits of legal enforcement activities. And I have to agree that Iâm not seeing much in the way of questioning the legitimacy of those actions by us. As for specifics on detentions, I donât have access to reliable data that isnât deliberately skewed one way or the other, but there are sufficient reports of that happening to not believe it isnât occurring. That itâs happening at all should be disconcerting.

I believe the 2A Community is quite vocalâŠ
I always told my kids when they asked or expressed the sentiment, âwhy vote, my one vote doesnât matter?â that this is exactly what the establishment WANT you to think. Be that as it may. I believe we ALL, 2nd ammendment/ gun owners or not, need to and MUST be vocal about ANY constitutional infringement/violations of our rights! Most 2nd amendment proponents I know are also constitutionalists. We oppose any infringements to the bill of rights in particular and tend to be pretty vocal about it.

However: speaking for myself, W/O specific instances of this tyrannical behaviour you are stating exists by Governmental Agents, I can only ask a few clarifying questions.
Are we speaking of enforcement operations by Federal Officers of the Department of Homeland Security such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (colloquially known as ICE) that have been occuring across the Country.
Or (and this is very specific) the shooting of the activist by an ICE officer that took place yesterday in Minneapolis?

It really does not matter to âYouâ what machines the voters utilize or what method they use to conduct a vote; undeniably, no matter what, âYouâ will certainly not believe it was done right unless your guys win. This is just one of the ways they have brainwashed âYouâ into permitting them to steal rights from âYouâ and others.
My opinions on this. It was undeniably wrong for the person to assault the ICE officerâextremely unlawful; there was no denying this.
On the other hand, would you endorse a government agent shooting first instead of detaining or de-escalating? We seem to escalate things from zero to dead these days. I have read here that many of you endorse killing if their ideology doesnât align with yours. Look closely into the mirror. What does this indicate about your views that you condone this behavior only on one side? You are essentially no more worthy then those you condemn.
My belief remains that it is seldom too late; humanity simply needs to refrain from glorifying the bad actors. My expectations are it will soon transition from the outliers and back to the centrists, you know, the normies.

Personally I donât endorse killing because of a difference of ideology, the soccer mom from Colorado who drove across multiple states to interfere with federal operations had the opportunity to stay home with her kids.

Thereâs laws that cover lethal force, and ramming someone with a vehicle IS lethal force.
My (and @Don102 ) calling for corrupt and treasonous politicians to face tribunals and potentially the gallows doesnât come from rampant ideological lust for death. It comes from constitutional law and longstanding tradition of punishment in regards to betraying oneâs country.
