Got my first scam email. Guess that makes me official as an instructor.
Here is the text:
Hello coach
I saw your contact on ussca.com. l would like to know if you’re available to coach my son. If so, kindly get back to me with your rate Waiting to hear from you.
From what I’ve read it seems to involve them sending a check for too much money and then you send a refund and the first check bounces. I would guess that they also ask for account info to “deposit” funds for the class.
Cute! They should all get lives!
Scamming is up across the board,
'You got a Ticket recentl (Moving Violation-DMV)
This will be settled if you fork over your ‘CC’ oh, and by the by
if you give your 'Secret 3 didit decoder ring number on back you are good to go…
That’s using your head Cande—I’d rather listen to my Intuition and maybe lose a potential
new student than spend weeks/months trying to straighten my destroyed Credit out!
Thanks Don,
I saw other instructors post about these kind of emails on the Facebook Instructor Board. I get stuff like that every once in a while for my art business. If someone wants my attention then the least they can do is sign their name.
I’m so glad that I copied the email and did a Google search because it brought me right to this forum! I thought it was an accident that it ended up in spam, but it seems to be truly a scam email. Smh.
