I don’t know now if republicans will be in office very long now

I was hoping like heck that Republicans would be in power for at least for the four years of Trump in there then eight years of Vance then someone else but IDK how that can happen when he’s fired a few thousand people already and they aint happy about it one bit.
Hope like heck I’m wrong.

I understand both sides of it. Everyone knows the govt is way to big. Alot of folks are useless in big gov. Financially, this country cant sustain the way its going.

Gotta save money. Get rid of workers not needed.

Govt isnt a business but something has to change.

Get rid of the bloat. Sucks folks losing their cush job but if they are needed, they would be safe

If you calculate correctly, you know that firing few thousand doesn’t change anything in voting.
It’s not the same as giving taxpayer’s money to lazy people or bringing immigrants to have more voters…
First… Let’s let them put this Country back on proper tracks… then there will be time to think about next elections. If Republicans make everything right there will be more new voters gained than those few thousand lost …

To all , I understand exactly what you’re saying and a few thousand can’t matter in the scheme of things but when you’re the one it happens to and you’re ole lady don’t like it and for every one that gets the gate they can bring prolly three along with them. Like at a hospital a bill will land or go through six or seven peoples desk before getting sent out and why? So about five of those people can have a job that’s all. But I just hope it don’t get to the tens of thousands because it could reach a breaking point.

The average voter has a very short attention span, if the terminations result in a more efficient Government with no disruption of services the average voter will have moved on. However if the unemployed create hardships for communities and services are disrupted then the average voters will probably vote against Republicans. Trump is making a huge bet on Elon and if he wins, he will show he was right, but if he loses it will probably end a lot of political careers.

Here’s my predictions – and I hope I’m wrong.

  1. There will be lots of political drama around Elon Musk’s attempt to slash the size of government, but digging out of a $2 TRILLION annual deficit and $36 TRILLION accumulated debt won’t happen by picking around the edges of government spending. More people (voters) will be disillusioned and alienated by that effort than inspired. Inflation, driven by $36 TRILLION of printed money and 25% tariffs on virtually all imports will accelerate forcing the Fed to raise interest rates pushing out private investment in the economy. It will be surprising if there is not a significant recession.

  2. Republicans in Congress up for re-election in 2026 will double down on social issues to try and motivate their base and keep their government jobs. That will take the form of meaningless hand wringing and elected officials scrambling for the pulpit to rail about about transgender people, bathroom laws, voter fraud, crime, and the need to rebuild the military to meet vague threats.

  3. If he’s not dead (he is 78 after all), Trump will assert that he was elected with a mandate so big that he can run for a third term. Dems will offer up the worst possible opponent in their bench of candidates. That will precipitate a new Constitutional crisis. Think I exaggerate? Consider

Trump again raises idea of running for an unconstitutional third term - The Washington Post

Here’s the Dem line up of opposition …

DNC Members Elect New Slate of DNC Officers - Democrats

  1. There may not be an election after 2026, especially if the newly purged government declares some bogus state of emergency or the Orange man decides that he does not need an election to remain in office for life.

Trump can float ideas however unless the Constitution is anended this will be his last term. The Constitution is very clear on term limits.

I have no problem with amending an amendment, that’s the legal way, and how it is supposed to be done. Would he get a 2/3 majority vote in both the House and the Senate? I sincerely doubt it, let alone the required supermajority (3/4) of the states’ legislatures.

This is just the liberal media attempting to stir up yet more distrust. Frankly, most of us are already over it.

I voted for Trump in his first term based on his promise to introduce a Constitutional amendment imposing term limits as his #1 priority during his first 100 days in office. He obviously lied so I did not vote for him again based on the “fool me once” principle. I did not and would not vote for Biden as an 80-year-old career politician should not be in office at all, much less President. I did not vote for Kamala as she was just Biden-lite who led the effort to ban firearms while AG in California.

Stinky choices all around.

He can propose whatever he wants to Congress, but it is up to Congress to introduce any Constitutional amendment that would impose term limits. The president does not, nor has a president ever had any more authority to change term limits than you or I.

What’s about BHO’s extra-constitutional term(s) in his shadow office hiding behind his nitwit puppet proxies?

It’s never going to happen, to change the constitution it would require 2/3rds of the house and senate to agree, 2/3rds of the State Legislatures to agree and then 3/4ths of the State Legislatures to approve. Just like birthright citizenship it will require Democrats and Republicans to come together to pass.

Well, hopefully the truth will finally come out and heads will roll for the 2020 stolen election, and we’ll get the goods on who was actually running the government during the subsequent biden nightmare.

We definitely need to investigate the events that almost completely destroyed the republic.
