I never realized that any youngster can easily log in and read our comments. Kinda glad I was more careful with my choice of words, and if a new comer reads us, a part of me wants to leave a welcoming perception and wanting us to have a positive impression, such as teaching, learning, and a little fun.
However, because of the freedoms, I can see how sometimes we vent or show anger. It’s nature.
I guess there are two sides of the coin per se, hard to censor, but I get the point about the value of monitors.
Less I forget, in a court of law, our words and identities here are discoverable.

YES! Heidi, There is a special section for being ‘Targeted’ that you can log-into
where they sell Tee shirts and Jackets, Range bags with all sorts of Blocked
out curses and a Velcro patch where you can update how much you’ve
been Judged and assessed as a BAD MEMBER OF USCCA!
My goal is to be on top of that Leader Board before my next Anniversary!

It would seem to me that freedom of speech applies when someone is using their personally created and owned platform. It is possible that freedom of speech does not when another’s platform is being used and there are established rules of conduct for such platform. My goal in sharing this is only to offer a possible explanation and not to create disharmony. For all reading here, I wish you a wonderful holiday.

I haven’t been commenting much lately, but I read through this thread and just have a couple thoughts.
- @Don102 , we love you brother and your straight talking, tell us what you’re thinking way with words. Don’t stop posting please, even if there’s some censorship going on.
- @Tyler_USCCA , I understand that your job is to moderate the forum, and that the forum is a reflection overall of the USCCA. I am proud to be a member of the USCCA and only want things to reflect well on our group. Having said that our forum had been essentially self moderated for years now, and has been working pretty well. As a group, gunners tend to be very independent thinking, opinionated, call it as they see it people. That’s why we’re drawn here to this community. Please, in doing your job, don’t stifle the creativity of our members as they express themselves. It’s really the main reason many of us are here. The forum will die if people feel stifled.
I realize we are visible to the public, which is good and bad, and non members can join the forum. We’ve talked on here before about maybe having a USCCA members only section that’s not visible to the public. There are some regulars on the forum who can’t join the USCCA or don’t for various reasons, and I value their input, but the members should really have a private space to interact with each other.
Here’s an idea I just had as I’m writing. Make a private USCCA members only section to discuss more “off topic” stuff other than SD, firearms, etc. A place where members can interact feeely and be themselves, with free expression. To accommodate our non USCCA members who make real contributions to the community, after, say, one year of active “regular” status on the forum, you can also join the members area, as we’ll know you’re the real deal and not a new troll.

Most search engines, or translation apps are very easy to use, just plug in the text that you want to translate, and indicate the other language, hit the button and bingo you got it.)

Nah, that defeats the purpose of a paying member area. Want to join the conversation there, pay up. I would like to have a place where we can talk like I’ve come to enjoy here without some random troll dropping in. There are 5 or 6 people here that I would miss talking with since I don’t leave homestead very often.

Hmmm… seems that Don102 does not know what the 1st Amendment protects. Here’s the text …
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
Posting on forums owned by others is governed by the Golden Rule not the 1st Amendment (unless the forum is run by Congress). “He who has the gold makes the rules.”

I would like to bring a point to your attention. I’ve been a part of this forum since it’s inception. I was here when @dawn was the Community Manager. I would warn you against being taken in by calls to moderate the forums because of some alleged concern of “Children could read this”. Maybe the “Parents” of some “hypothetical” child should do their job and monitor what they are allowing their children to consume on the Internet.
To be perfectly honest, I think the USCCA (if the concern was actually voiced to them about what a child “might” see on this forum) may have been taken in by a slightly more sophisticated troll, using a false concern of “it’s for the children” to silence a pro 2A forum.
This forum is predominantly populated by the USCCA’s most loyal defenders. Go back and read the posts where people came to complain about the USCCA and the false claims about the USCCA not defending some of its members, such as Kayla Giles, or Alan Coles. The biggest defenders of the USCCA are a part of this forum.
The USCCA, by and large, abandoned this forum in 2020 after the COVID-19 lockdowns. It’s had some stumbles, and it can get intense sometimes, especially around election cycles. The trolls tend to come out in droves then. But it is predominantly self policing and is primarily made up of very vocal fans of the USCCA and it’s stated purpose.
My closing thoughts on this. If the USCCA is acting on some alleged concern for what children may or may not see on the Internet. Perhaps it would behoove the parents of these “alleged” children to do their jobs instead of trying to “Karen” the USCCA into cracking down on some of its biggest defenders.
But hey, that’s just me…

On the topic of using inappropriate language.
& you’re right to free speech.
If you had your family gathered around for Christmas dinner and someone or your kid used what you thought was inappropriate language what would you do?
Think of this place as the same thing this isn’t the street corner.
I’ve been a paying member for a year now and when I post , your called a troll if you happen to disagree, have a different opinion, you’ll be continue to be called a troll.
If you don’t fall into place and put people upon a pedestal. Your a troll.
Here the “click” always needs to be thanked for this thanked for that and put up on a pedestal and if you don’t do that you’re a troll.
If you have a strong opinion, that doesn’t necessarily line up with theirs, you’re a troll.
You can be on the right, but if you’re not far enough right again, you’re a troll.
Tolerance doesn’t exist here.

But at times if you sit back and you read the comments, the emojis, The constant back padding and the high school behavior, it gets to be a little too much for a site like this.
It’s probably why I kept my mouth shut untill now and I probably won’t post much in the

I’m coming up on my anniversary date and I’m debating re-upping.
I think they offer a quality product, but this site needs to do more to reflect that.

I do not necessarily agree with you, but I respect your right to have that opinion. I find it a bit disingenuous though. There’s a very simple way to solve the problem, if this “alleged” high school behavior that disturbs you so. Click on the little x at the top right of the screen. There are literally hundreds, even thousands, maybe even millions of other sites that are not this community.
I’m not being a jerk, but this is precisely what I disagree with the most. People feel like they have the right to be protected from dissenting opinions or different pov’s and the World must change to conform to their view.
