I am looking for a home security system with indoor and outdoor cameras (solar preferred), with good camera views on phone app. I would like cloud storage and prefer capability to have battery back up with loss of power.
I’ve done alot of research but for every positive review there are negative reviews as well. So does anyone have a system that they would recommend? TIA

There’s no perfect system. There’ll be positive and negative reviews.
Go to Costco and get one of their products with solar capability. That’s all you need.

You’ll go nuts looking for the perfect system.
I only have a doorbell cam right now, but I use Yolink products for window/door sensors, alarms, and motion detectors. Each device has a reliable 1/4 mile range. I use two of their “Speaker Hubs” that connect to WiFi, and all the other products connect to the hubs on a different frequency than WiFi, so they have a much longer range. Also, your wifi is not overburdoned with gadgets, only two, although 28 devices are connected. Rock solid performance for the last two years so far, long battery life on each device, and the system can be incorporated into smart homes. Very modular system, you buy pieces as needed. I even have a device in my mailbox that alerts me when the box is opened.

Most of it is sold on Amazon. Tech support is excellent, though the system is so intuitive and easy to set up you probably won’t need them.

Call the clowns at Vivint, SOS, ADT etc if you want the inside and outside connected to the surveillance society. Sign up for a subscription package and they cover equipment and installation fees and get you plugged right in.
Or you can go DIY and maintain control of what gets seen and when by installing your own system not connected to the cops or Uncle Sam. I went with a Lorex system from Costco, they can even set you up with an installer. It is a PoE camera system (no wifi to jam or lose connectivity with) fed into a 12TB local storage with the ability to store events in the cloud, event notifications, ability to connect other sensors etc., all while being under your direct control. I plugged mine into a UPS with my router, fiber optic router and switches so if power is lost I can still connect to the system and see what’s going on.

Recommendations are great… because these systems always work for the person who recommends. 
First of all, you have to decide how much time do you want to spend maintaining those cameras. If you want a peace of mind, “set up once and forget” system - don’t even think about “solar” or “battery” or “wifi” cameras.
The best security CCTV system was already described by @TheProtonSpinner - local NVR on battery backup with hardwired POE cameras. These cannot be hacked (unless setup stupid way) and cannot be jammed. If you are worried about local footage that can be stolen, find system that allows “online backup” - so you will have access to local recordings and online backup.
Lorex seems to be OK and affordable system.

Really, you’ll have to make your own decision on this after you’re finished investigating manufacturers.
The main point is get cameras, indoor/outdoor. I’ve found the outdoor cameras have helped me the most because they keep people away from my property before any damage to my house or buildings.
Remember, they are a deterant. Nothing is perfect. I’ve had a few, I feel , test them. They’ve found out they are active and two separate wackos were schooled by sheriff Deputies.

I use D-Link security cameras on my properties. They aren’t expensive, plus you can get “save to the cloud” and custom security alerts thru their app.
You’d have to set up your own power scheme, but with desk UPS systems and small outdoor solar kits it wouldn’t even difficult.

@Jerzees, you know more about the butt than I do. Point out what you are talking about. All I know is the KILL switch is on the other end…
why this one is disarmed? Cannot handle the gear during ON / OFF procedure?
That is a weak system then.
