I hate leather work but the QUALITY OF LEATHER LEGGINGS AND MY STYLE IS VERY EXPENSIVE SO I MAKE MY OWN AND I HAVE BEEN OFFERED 7 HUNDRED DOLLARS AND I SOLD THEM AND AFTER GOING TWO YEARS WITH OUT MY LEGGINGS I MADE ME A PAIR FOR EVERY DAY AND I. NEVER EVER WANT TO DO ALL THAT AGAIN AND I JUST REPAIR THINGS FOR FRIENDS BUT NO WORKING FOR FREE AND I DO NOT WANT TO CHARGE MY FRIENDS I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE WITH LEGGINGS LIKE I MADE FOR MY SELF , you can not even see the seven ENCH KABARS in each legen ten belts for each one very very Kool so they say ![]()

Gary263 use your fork to make a impression on your leather and drill it with a tiny dill bit and you will save time a your fingers press down hard so the leather does not spin or wind up on you An draw a straight line and the stichin will be straight. Great work Brother I made Indian bone necklaces I get the bones from Montana from my sister from the Chyian res she sends me. My daddy was a silver smith and made squash blossoms necklace and rings and watch bands kool stuff I do not know how Bobby Jean:latin_cross:![]()

Nice leather work, I always preferred hand crafted.
Nice work
I think that this is where I lose my stitch line, I layout the line with pencil then space the holes with the fork punch, then when I go to drill the holes through, my shaky old hands just miss the targeted spot.
I never drill my stitching holes. I use the punches and a diamond cross section awl. Keeping the holes diamond shaped rather than round allows the stitches to form a slightly zigzag pattern that I find more attractive. Also using an awl is more precise in my opinion. The correct saddle stitching technique is also crucial to getting a good straight line.
Both Ebay and Amazon have the Chinese shoe stitchers for about $115. Cheap enough if you do enough repairs or new work.
My fix for that: Bright lights all around (I prefer 6500k LEDs), magnifiers if you need them, and only work when you’re feeling fit and energetic. That really helps reduce the amount of sub-par work I turn out.
Eugene49 NAIL DOWN THE LEATHER THAT YOU ARE DRILLING YOU LINE OF HOLES WITH FINSHIN NAILS AND MAKE SURE THE LEATHER IS PULLED TIGHT
