Home Defense "construction" turret

So, first off, I imagine the legal ramifications are…wild, but some guy made an AI pnuematic nail turret. Watch the video. It’s like an immobile Terminator.

So, who’s wanting a Home Defense or Vehicle Defense turret, and how likely do we think it’ll be that we’re eventually able to have one?

I think AI is still a fair ways off from being able to differentiate friend from foe in a civilian setting. Many States also have laws against setting booby traps which a device like this might be able to be classified as.

“Booby traps?” It sounds like some politician watched Home Alone and didn’t want it to happen to him.

Imagine the AIs we deal with every day being charged with managing a weapon – for example, the robo attendant that says “Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish. In a few words, tell me what you want.” and then can’t understand you when you say your telephone number or address.

Screw the ramifications, I’m placing my order tonight!
If I didn’t invite you, you don’t belong!

“ALEXA / SIRI range to target, activate home defense systems, blue targets only, activation code 45/47/Scott52, prosecute, prosecute :exclamation::+1:

Change thought tracking to Liberal.

sadly I see nothing… so can’t react or read it even???

That’s a bummer. I just clicked it and it works on my phone.

I’ve fou d what appears to be the same cideo on youtube:

Yaaaaaa… 'cause that’s exactly how pneumatic guns are used in construction… firing the nails/staples through the air. Why, just last week, I nailed off 14 sheets of sheer panel while sitting on the tailgate of my truck. Then I nailed off a bunch of roof sheeting without having to even get on the roof. I can’t wait to mount one of these in the back of my truck. …for construction.
