There are things that people have a line drawn in the sand and whatever steps over the line has wondered too far. The point of no return has been initiated and you react. This story is one of those that will make you think, at least it made me think. The willingness to put yourself out there for the protection of yourself or others may not have the results one would think but all in all, was it worth it?

We have discussed it on this platform before about someone who thought they were acting in self-defense and were found guilty and had gone to jail. So, here is this story. Just let me know what you think.

He did the exact thing I would’ve done 10mm to the dome. Screw time or death… something’s are more than worth it.

Sad deal. I understand that blind vigilantism can be dangerous but it can also be a deterrent. I don’t know of one father of a young daughter that wouldn’t, at least, think about paying a scum bag bastard a visit like that.

Truth there is a line in the sand (for almost everybody)
EXCEPT SHEEPLE! They don’t have a line, they get pushed and pushed
until their back is either up against the wall or until they get forced down
the shoot to get hit over the head w/ a bat. (sorry for the graphic)

I ask myself one question in my daily actions:
What has to happen for me to intercede in an action that is none of my business
I am in no danger personally, and I KNOW will bring a world of hurt down on me and mine?
Years ago 100% American SheepDog.
Today? If you FAFO you still will not like the results.
But ‘Out there’? Now? Most citizens are on their own.
I pray for their safety, I pray they use their heads, but I believe the action isn’t worth the risk anymore.
A Mall shooter(s) I’m in. Theatre? County Fair, gloves come off.
But a ‘Domestic’?
Street fight?

A person believes they will act a certain way in a situation that they have in their head but in the real world of things all the information is not available. You will have to act upon a hunch and live with their choice. This is what the shark tank is all about, it is a shark tank but is the shark going to bite? A person’s beliefs of if a person did this, I would do this but when it comes right down to it at the time of doing it are you going to think about it or just react?

Nobody knows what they will do for sure until they are in it. You can train and believe your ready but until the shtf you won’t know for sure.

I have a standard and a policy to never shoot anyone if I have a motive!
Give it a month or two, then make it look like an accident!
Two shots to the back of the head, looks like suicide to me!

That may be true Brother but some have ‘Been in it’, Got the Tee Shirts and know if
A situation arises what they will do. MY belief is AGE and Experiences shape what you
will do in the future compared to a young and dumb earlier version of yourself.
As explained earlier a sharper, wiser Survivor WILL DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY in the future compared to a Young WARRIOR who was Bullet Proof.

I learned @ an early age, Don 102 is NOT Bullet Proof, a painful lesson indeed!

Don102 brother I agree with you mostly, but I know older people who once would but now say no, I’m in my 60’s and also have the battle scars from younger day’s. Age slowed me down in the aspect that if it doesn’t effect me or mine I mind my own business.

As it pertains to the linked story?

A resounding yes.

Especially with an admission of guilt and sorry ass excuse like that.

I’d have then unloaded the gun and waited for the police and my handcuffs knowing that justice had been served and whatever hardship I may face, I had done the right thing.

Now, some have taken the conversation outside of that linked story….

If I see a mugging or attempted rape in progress, I might shout that I’m calling the 5.0, maybe a boot to the head in the latter case.

But not lethal force unless it was presented directly to myself.

As @Don102 said though, mass shooting event, if I’m in the area, I’m already the assailants target, and returning fire is not likely to make my situation any worse, so LETS DANCE!

My initial reaction was immediate revenge BUT then I thought of the consequences. My child needs me throughout her life. She would have to live the rest of her life without her father. So, its more important to have her father and not take a life for revenge.
