This @ZoldFrog
is beautifully stated above and is why if you are choosing the route of Armed Security for a Career ⊠Choose wisely.
INVESTIGATE THE SECURITY FIRM AS HARD AS THE VET YOU!.
DO NOT GO WITH A SHADY COMPANY. If they are âwillingâ to pay off the books or cash OTârun very fast away from them. (they get caught doing unethical things YOU are painted with the same brush---- The authorities will clearly tell you YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.
You get in a shoot and the management disappears you are sh!t outta luck. (and prolly left holding the bag)
IF they have zero INSURANCE please walk away also. If they tell YOU you need to get your own Insurance RUN AWAY!. If they take you off the street and give you a Uniform shirt and say âou start Thursdayâ----run away. No Medical or Health/dental insurance? RUN! You could be left holding the bag for youâre own recovery/Medical bills.
IF they donât have a Bonded Training Program w/ CERTIFIED Instructorâs RUN AWAY!
Private Security for the most part is a Joke unless you hook up with the likes of companies who have Contracts for Military bases, INTEL, Sandia National Labs or top tier Contractorâs.
When I got severely hurt I was backed not only by the Contractor who hired me but the Federal .govâZERO $$$$$$ had to be paid back.

Almost forgot: The one point I made above is âIF THEY TAKE YOU OFF THE STREET âWITH NO FORMAL TRAINING, NO TESTING, NO TRIGGER TIME JUST REMEMBER YOUâRE âPartnerâ Security teamâ, or Supervisorâs may have the same lack of Training or Knowledge!
The people above you need to be THERE FOR YOU.
At Allied Universal my âCaptainâ was a Butcher @ Kellarâs Meats before taking a Supervisory positionâNO TRAINING, NO MILITARY EXPERIENCEâA BUTCHER!. (and Allied was suppose to be one of the better ones)
The two guyâs who decided to make big bucks in security (Precision Security) One was a Mechanic (still had a Tow service on the grounds of his double wide base of operations) the other was a shady former Lawyer who lost his license to practice Law âdirty deeds done dirt cheap.
Valley Protective Services paired me up with a Level2 (Unarmed) because he was convicted of nefarious crimes in the past and the phucker STILL carried a gun. When confronted (management) they said he âWas straightening his life out so he deserved a second chanceâ⊠NOPE! SO SORRY, we are not in the business of second chancing FELONâS! What the F88k were they thinking?
Remember folkâs when you are going through the door (to clear out druggies, Squatters, Hoeâs and Pimps) YOU BETTER KNOW WHO YOU ARE TEAMED UP WITH.
You only get one shot @ being safe and I AM going home @ night! ALIVE!
Off duty, yes. On duty, thatâs the employers lookout.
