From the Government, Here To Help

In 2017, the state spent over $100 million on homelessness, and by 2019, this figure had ballooned to over $300 million. The increased funding has been directed towards building new homeless resource centers and providing more comprehensive services1.

After spending a half a billion bucks our Mayor says “The system, as it exists today, is really not designed to create accountability or remedy the services for this population, so we see a cycling of people with many arrests,”.

Yep, that’s it. We told you guys years ago that dumping $100’s of millions on the problem wouldn’t help SO You forged ahead and proved it, it didn’t solve ANY of the problem.

I don’t see how we can solve any problems unless we first look at them as challenges. What challenges do you see the city undertaking.

If they have no dog in the hunt…they don’t care. It should be tied to their pay for performance. If you go negative or make “it” worse…no pay.

You do know some people take that as a challenge

I am not sure about Utah’s requirements to obtain housing assistance, however many States and counties will not provide assistance to applicants with a criminal record. Those with anything beyond misdemeanor traffic violations will be denied. In some instances there are city ordinances where being homeless is a criminal offence. So, while not housing the homeless, many housing authorities will give themselves new titles that come with new raises and the money is funneled into their pockets that way. Additionally, some large cities will use the homeless coffers as their departmental petty cash fund. So, the homeless remain homeless, the government employees continue to get raises and the people (Tax Payers & Homeless) continue to suffer. It is sad to watch in my area, as some of my clients qualify for housing assistance aside from one charge they got 15 or 20 years ago that makes them ineligible. Be safe, everyone!

Well, if the challenge is to make it worse, they’re just being cowards.

Around here we have this:

  1. Utah Office of Homeless Services: Part of the Department of Workforce Services, this office oversees planning and oversight of homeless services, funding sources, and data collection.
  2. Utah Homeless Network (UHN): Established by the Utah Strategic Plan on Homelessness, UHN supports connections across local councils and state governments, shares best practices, and makes policy recommendations.
  3. Continua of Care (CoC) Councils: These are regional planning bodies designated by HUD to promote community-wide efforts to end homelessness and provide funding for rehousing efforts.
  4. Local Homeless Councils (LHC): These councils are responsible for developing local agendas and spending plans to reduce homelessness in their regions.
  5. Road Home: A nonprofit organization providing shelter and services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County.

To name a few.

What they need to do to those homeless camps is go through them with flame throwers and leaf blowers because that’s what happens when they leave it to us to cure and tell us “ Oh BTW don’t do anything to them “. The cheap Gummitt closed the bug houses years ago ant the back pack tribes steal off your porches and deficate in the street for the little kiddies to look at on the way to the school bus and then mommy takes you to school and some savage has wiped himself on your door handle of your vehicle.
It’s about the laziness of the law, not the :policeman: officers but above them because the nomadic tribes are all over here in this town but a few miles away they aren’t there why? Because the cops tell them to hit the bricks and tell them “ you can’t live on the streets here so I’m gonna take you to the end of the city limits and I’d better not see you again. You can’t even go to a store or a fuel station without them bumming money off you, One good grocery store moved out because the customers complained about being accosted on the parking lot.

You know its gonna be a useless money pit when a state starts a “division” to combat homelessness.

Common sense is already out of the door and they are after the Benjamin’s

If government wants to do something to help – they should stay out of our lives and out of our way.

I always thought we were the government. Now I guess it means the polititions or people who work for the government. Which still comes back to us. The government workers work for us. It really makes no sense. If they are government workers, does that mean they are the government or they work for the government?

When a whole lot of $$$,000,000,000 is involved there will be at least 100’s of people involved to soak up at least $$$,000,000,090 of it. This is a rubes crude estimation of the exchange rate of current business as usual with gov’nment programs.

Mileage may vary, but a whole bunch of vulture, bloodsucking MF’ers get rich off of BIG $$$ while scraps remain.
