Constitutional carry - Ohio

Hello everyone!

I’m new to the forms and just curious on the constitutional carry in Ohio. I am a new father, and want to protect my family. I am unable to find any classes in my area for a CCW. I’m not sure why it’s so hard, but I do live in a rural area with a big city approx. 1.5 hours away. Willing to travel but I cannot find anything. I’m just curious if I can carry concealed or not? I did Google it, but I honestly don’t know what articles I can trust. I would like to be able to drive with it, loaded. Thanks in advance for any advice, information, and or links!

Wish you the best. Learn, safety first, safety last, discipline.

  • Treat gun as if it’s loaded
  • Keep gun pointed in the safest possible direction
  • Keep finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot
  • Know your target, its surroundings and beyond
  • Check the chamber carefully and slowly to see if it’s truly empty or loaded

Another quality site, which is actively updated as states enact new laws, is

I use it along with the USCCA Reciprocity Map page for slightly different commentary, since the laws are often a real hassle to understand.

In Ohio you can get the permit, but yes you can absolutely Constitutional Carry. ( so long as you are otherwise legally eligible to apply for a permit)
