Someone create a text reader directly on my phone because long posts drains me.

Nothing to create. Text reader apps already exist for Android and Apple.

I’m using Voice Aloud Reader on my Android.

I’m highlighting the text and there is an text reader under right click.

If you could change or modify One thing on the USCCA community website what would it be ( ONLY ONE ) ?? Feed back was encouraged.

Many of us have wished for a “members only” area that’s not open to everyone on the internet. But that’s not why the USCCA paid good money for this website.

Shhhh… we’re still working on this one  But don’t say it too loud or you’ll jinx us!

In all seriousness, it is one of my goals to have a members’ only area in the Community, but I have some tech issues to resolve and there are other important things that are also being worked on right now.

Your requests have been heard, it’ll just take a bit of time on this one.

I don’t know if anyone suggested a testimonial section. If so my bad and I love y’all. People can comment on how they may have stopped an incident, saved someone’s life; you know, stuff like that.

Shorter shelf life for topics and responses. Some material has been around for months. Create a place for older posts available to anyone that wants to review them.
Out with the old in with the new.

Archive old threads not related to self-defense. Though I do not subscribe to Mr Plastics point of view I do think the thread asking for our religious beliefs has gone through a twist and may be best deleted. Of course you know I place my life in Christ’s hand. Praise be to Jesus Chris, Son of the Father who proceeds from the Father together either the Holy Spirit.

That’s not a bad idea. I wonder, though, how long should we archive old discussions? I assume that in five years, I’ll be embarrassed at some of the things that I think are clever, today. I wish the internet had a [Delete] button.

I also wonder about old topics that roar back to life. Sometimes, for example, we’re discussion a legal case. Then, months later, the courts finally take some action. I sometimes thought it was a shame that we had to close the old discussion and lose the context. And yes, I realize that could contradict what I just said about having a delete button.

This was about shorter shelf life of topics. Any one can flag, bag tag, or alert a moderator about a N.G. post.

I wish threads over a certain age (to be determined) would fade away (deleted). The internet is becoming a wasteland of old info.

I don’t know if that was requested but big thank you USCCA for improving the Community appearance.
New fonts and colors made it better for reading and writing especially on the mobile devices.
:handshake:

That’s true in the browser and on DiscourseHub.

Very much appreciated.

I Finally got a response from Dawn regarding these things with no action being taken.

  1. deleting Old topics even if it’s one that you placed.
  2. removing USCCA ads in the middle of topics and putting them in one place.
I gave this information to a moderator and it was handed off to Dawn.
I mentioned that these requests were also mentioned by other members
But still no action taken. They got feed back but fail to take action.
I’m Disappointed with no action taken on repeated requests.Just wasted time.
P.S. SEEMS THEY ARE MAKING A LOT OF MONEY FROM MEMBERS BUT WANT TO EAT THE CAKE TOO. You can have it your way at Burger King for a lot less $$$

Bumping this topic back up.

@Dawn can you respond to this >> ##

@Dawn is one of the moderators. I think she’s in charge of moderation (and a few other things).

I am a moderator on another gun-related forum. The software used by that forum offers up suggested topics based on what one has read and posted. Some of the threads being raised from the dead there are more than 15 years old.

The general opinion of those moderators (and others I am in touch with) is that old threads can live on far after their apparent usefulness is at an end. There is a lot of wisdom in old threads. There is dross, too. However, I am the sum of everything I have done, experienced, written, and said during my entire life. Take away any of it and I would not be who I am.
