Well said. Thank you for your service sir! (See what I did here Nathan? Educated guess in lieu of the facts) ![]()
I do see that. As it happens, people thank me for my service somewhat often. I never served. It can be awkward. Based on this experience, that is one of the things where I try not to act on assumptions until they are founded. But thatās just me. ![]()
Same happens to me sometime. Must be the hair cut⦠I always tell them the same thing. Never served, but appreciate the hell out of those who have.
Still, standing behind my educated guess. ![]()
Fair enough.
I attribute it to hair cut, eye contact, posture, and sometimes to an extent clothingā¦neutral or natural colors, boots even when they are just hybrid hiking boots that arenāt really bootsā¦it happens
Better work on our grey manā¦

Short hair, Shades and a bulge on my right hip.

It would be very much like Russia and China to use AI and social networking, including sites like this one, to whip people into a fear-fueled-frenzy, become overly paranoid, and get people ready to blast their neighbor by planting ideas like ācivil warā and ārevolutionā.
Iām rejecting that thinking. I maintain there are going to be some turbulent waters, as there has been many times in our nationās history, but our constitutional republic is strong enough to survive.
It would be like our own government to do the same thing.
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding!
We got here by self-serving and leaving God out of our live and decision making. Consequently, since a nation does not go to the final judgement, it must answer and suffer for its national sins in this present time.
If it makes anyone feel better, I served four years active duty with 42 months in the Far East and then four years active reserve. I feel slightly embarrassed when someone thanks me for my service. There was a draft at that time and someone graduating from high school faced a minimum of 2 years active duty with 6 years inactive reserve. Whatever minimal successes I have achieved in my life I owe to my Marine Corps service. Without that service I would have never met my wife of 65 years. She is the most incredible woman I have ever met. Her list of skills and achievements would take pages to enumerate. Actually she is more responsible for my minimal achievements ahead of the Marine Corps, but without the USMC I would have never met her, so I rank the USMC just a hair ahead of her support and help. Just that single event means I got more out of the USMC than I ever actually contributed, although I always gave my best in my MOS. I must admit I was less than enthusiastic about some of the c.s & b.s. we had to endure but spending my time overseas in primitive conditions, the c.s.&b.s. portions were not that onerous.
Thanks for the validation!
Guys, I understand why that is a popular narrative right now. But our government, which is US per the opening three words that form our constitutional republic, absolutely does not allow it. China and Russia, different story.
I also understand the fears that our justice department has been weaponized (I am not a fan of Trump, but I am far less a fan of the manipulated timing to prosecute him - it undermines our legal system), or that there is generally too much corruption in our government. Thatās always been the case in politics, and always will be.
Personally, I highly doubt AI and other attacks on democracy are coming from the one nation in the world that is still the most democratic, warts and all, and still helps promote and expand democracy in nations that choose to embrace it; it would simply be counterproductive.
My hope is for all Americans to trust our constitutional form of government and vote for the candidate that best supports, protects and defends it. Our divided house of far-left and far-right must come together closer to the middle and prioritize the protection of both liberty and the the rule of law. Itās the only way America wins the battle against itself.
But when the liberals and communists put up pizza boxes in the window and drag out fake votes and run them over and over through the counting machines, your vote means little. Their videos of that happening and nobody is in prison or has been executed for treason which such actions are.
Take a look at Franceās snap elections the liberals conducted and won. They cheated and nothing is happening. La Penn said what weāre saying about 2020: the election was stolen from me.
Ok, then work within our constitutional framework to make it better.
Remember, it says āin order to form a MORE PERFECTā union. Itās always going to be somewhat imperfect. We only incrementally move the meter.
And for all its imperfections, itās still the best system in the world.
To that I agree but we need to hold those that would usurp the visibility of the process accountable to the fullest extent of the law possible. All the news media should impartially show and report when it happens. Our leaders should take active steps to incarcerate the people that hinder that visibility. We need people conducting the counting that care more for the process and country than they do about their party and it retaining power.
No, Marianne. To AFFIRM the first one.
