Well, Christ did say to pack a sword, I am so tired of Christians seeking victimhood, I will fight back, anyone can pull a trigger, its the other stuff that counts. Arm yourselves, just my advice, the hoard is far, far inside our gates.

Can’t blame him.

I know our pastor and one of the elders have conceal carry permits.

At my church there is a few of us that carry ccw. Its getting to that point. NC its legal. The first day at the church I pulled the head usher/ security person aside introduced myself an let him know that was ccw and carrying. He laughed and said no problem and we talked about guns for a few minutes.

Are you all made aware of it?
Pastor and elder made it known to us but they’re not aware I’m carrying (or maybe they are).

Before carrying into a church or other place of worship, “check your local listings”.

Many states may not have laws either in favor of or prohibiting carrying (open or concealed) but may have a law(s) with regard to carrying on private property, GFZ signage for example. Other states may allow it with the caveat that the place of worship has specifically permitted it. Or, it may just not be legal at all. Then there’s Virginia where I’m not sure if they’ve worked out whether it’s legal or not, or maybe they just decide as they go.

But in the end, living and being sited for carrying in a Church is better than being a body count on the news.

I felt compelled to at least say to check. Everyone once in a while, I try adulting. Overall, not a fan, but here we are lol

That’s pretty important IMHO. If something did happen, anyone carrying needs to know friend from foe and not just identify everyone with a firearm as a threat. Not all church shootings are from “outsiders”. I think the biggest benefit of being a member of the security team at my church was that it forced me to make an effort to get to know as many people there as possible rather than just my familiar “pod” (I’m an introvert). And knowing who else carries also means I know who else might be able to help in case extra assistance is needed at some point. Most of us who carry tend to take self defense and first aid more seriously than others.

Based on that statement,
if a member of church security team becomes unhinged, I wouldn’t want him to know I’m carrying.

What gets me are states that have open carry and allow CCW. Then when it comes to a house of worship it’s a no no. I agree with most, my EDC is on me wherever I go. I might tell or I might not. But if I become a regular attendee, I’m getting on the security team.

If the priest celebrates mass ad orientum which is typical in Eastern Rites, he’d stand little chance of protecting the flock.
Let the ushers handle the nasty work.

Regarding carrying swords, that direction was given to the apostles, not priests acting in persona Christi
Pardon my lousy excuse for Latin.
