Criminals watch parking lots to spot cars where someone’s head is doing the “now you see it, now you don’t” head bob - a clear tell you have a lock box under the seat. Stage the cable where you can reach it, without bending over, to retrieve the box. Learn how to put it back in a similar fashion.

Good post. I hope to bolt a box on my car’s floor one day. I am not a big fan of those with cables, but I got one, however it’s a thicker cable. Had to do a deep search, as most cables are on the thinner side. Then I ran into problem of the latch not catching or locking; But thankfully – I unscrewed it from the inside and added more washers and now it catches and locks. I try to instead “on-body carry,” thus use my safe only sparingly, as I never liked the idea of leaving it in the car.
