Bible, Koran and Book of Mormon in public Schools

An appeals committee subsequently recommended reversal of that decision, and the Davis school board sided with the appellate body, allowing the Bible to remain.

Around the same time, the challenges to the Book of Mormon and the Quran were submitted to Davis School District officials and the reviews are ongoing

Am I the only one that sees what’s going on here? The bible get’s taken out of libraries, the :poop: storm starts, the bible is allowed back into the libraries. In the mean (same) time The Book of Mormon and the Koran are still being reviewed? Looks to me like, the B.O.M. local pressure, they were afraid for their jobs, The Koran, I suspect they are worried about the backlash from, well, I think we know from where.

Are you sure they didn’t have someone write a new version of the Bible to ‘their’ liking before it went back on the shelf?

The Left is perverting every initiative. This is why we have satanic statue in the Iowa State Capitol, next to Nativity and Menora.
I cannot imagine why Koran the book needs to be removed from school library shelves, same for the Bible, and the Book of Mormon. This is legitimate material for study. Ultimatums like “if Koran is allowed, so should be the disgusting pornographic material” or “if Koran is not allowed, neither should be the Bible”, they are absolute falsehoods. They only point at commissioners, librarians or teachers having lost all moral focus, and needing to look for other jobs, quite frankly. These people are not going to fire themselves, this is parents’ responsibility.
Now, if a practitioner of Sharia wants to teach Koran to children, or perhaps a teacher wants to practice some aspect from the Book of Mormon with middle school students - there is legal framework for this. Again, this falls on the parents. There was a local middle school teacher, who for years put up satanic display next to Christmas decorations in the park. Hows this possible? Parents clearly don’t care who is teaching their children.

It is local government bureaucrats, largely self-appointed and unelected since many parents do not engage, deciding what is good for our children. That should strike people as offensive and dangerous, not the stories in any of these religious books.

The best answer is usually education. Back when I was in middle school, we studied all the major religions in the world, comparing and contrasting. It was one of the most interesting classes in social studies which is why I still remember it to this day. We really like to bury our heads in the sand in tgis country when it comes to education, and it’s sad.
