I have found a Baretta 92X for sale for 1200.00 dollars. The question is, is this a good gun? Does it have any problems? Should I get it?
Are you buying it on line, LGS or friend.
My Beretta 92 chows down on pretty much everything without a problem. The weight is nice for kickback but mine has the smaller sights. Making point shooting skills almost a must. If you’re looking to add one of those red dot doodads you will need to take it to a gun smith.
Overall I’ll give it a 4.5 out of 5. I can’t get as tight a grouping as with my TP9. I think you’ll be happy with it.

They don’t have a 92G?
I have 2 Beretta 92 LTTs and love them, I carried M9s in Iraq and the only problem with them was the magazines, who ever decided to parkerize magazines should have been shot. When we switched to Beretta magazines there were no more problems. And yes I like the double action first shot and single action after that. They are the only 9mm I own.

@Todd30 , if you have to choose between those 3 , your first choice should be the last one.
EDC x9 4" is the best small gun ever.
It’s hard to put in in the line with Beretta 92x or SIG X5- those are different guns used for different purposes.
You have great taste for handguns.
All 3 runs flawlessly forever, without any problems. What you need to do is to clean them from time to time.
I noticed a few 9mm semi’s are first shot DA, then remaining are SA. Is that particular aspect/feature unique to all Beretta’s only, or on certain specific brand 9mm’s?
I can see how when one is thinking of purchasing a semi auto, that they might not realize that on certain models, the very first shot is double action, and they might not like that, making it a completely different firearm from what they are expecting.
I notice many advertisements barely disclose that fine print. Lots to learn. “Do one’s homework” for sure.
Your link looks like the Beretta 92x Performance model… all steel.
The Beretta website lists this as 1350g (about 48 oz). A regular 92x is around 34 oz. This might factor into your purchase decision.
Just to compare:
- Springfield 1911 style all steel Ronin weighs around 40 oz.
- S&W 6" 629 44 Magnum weighs around 46 oz.
- S&W full size M2.0 9mm weighs around 29 oz.
Edit: I have a civilian version of the M9. I like it a lot, but installed a few mods to put it near the top of my full size list. Although Beretta has one of the smoother DA pulls of the DA/SA I own, it’s a LONG DA pull. This usually puts it way down on the carry rotation.
Personally, I wouldn’t get the all steel 92X P for anything other than competition use. The 92 is about my weight limit for CCW.
Don’t be confused and avoid further confusion.
DAO, means double action only, SAO means single action only.
If the pistol operates - first shot double action, all consecutive shots single action- then it is DA/SA .
DA/SA handgun is neither DAO nor SAO.
You forgot DAK
and LEM
I carry a Kimber Ultra-carry 2 ,45 ACP now and I have a Springfield 1911 ,45 ACP with a compensator. I like the weight of the gun and it fits my hand so well! I have to ask myself do I really need it? NO but I want it!
I already checked it out. I have been looking at it for about a month now.
I EDC a Kimber Ultra-carry 2 .45 ACP with 7 rounds.
There is only one problem with WC EDCx9… once you have it in your hands… you don’t want to stop shooting.
Thank God, this addiction is not prohibited yet…
So, the WC would be the better choice?
