AZ Resident CCW Permit - What does NM "restrictions" mean on the reciprocity map

When I click on the New Mexico link it says only the age restriction and permit.

If I travel through or visit someplace in NM, will my AZ CCW permit be honored?

Are there any other restrictions in NM I should know about that are different from AZ?

Just Google your Gun Questions and you usually receive a decent answer:

Yes, individuals with a valid Arizona concealed carry permit may legally carry a concealed handgun in New Mexico, as New Mexico recognizes Arizona’s concealed carry permit under its reciprocity agreements. New Mexico accepts concealed carry permits from Arizona, along with permits from several other states, including Texas, Colorado, and Florida. However, it is important to note that New Mexico does not issue concealed carry permits to non-residents, except for active-duty military members permanently stationed in the state and their dependents. While the permit is recognized, carryers must still comply with all New Mexico laws, including restrictions on carrying in certain locations such as schools, courts, and private property with “no weapons” signs.

On a personal note be forewarned that while NM is an OPEN CARRY STATE carrying open brings unwanted attention from not so enlightened ‘LEO’S’ and the ‘Normie’ public. If you are secure in your skin and not offended by the idiots Open or Concealed carry you will do fine while, Vacationing or just passing through our hallowed halls. Any ‘Resistance’ you encounter from these folk’s met with confidence and facts (KNOW THE LAW) will silence the Agitator’s. .

@lewis3 Come on by to the Land of Enchantment, you are good to go just as Don102 has inputted in his comment! Always, situational awareness, head on a swivel anywhere and everywhere on your daily travels, be safe. Additionally, carry a handgun lockbox to lock up your firearm in case you happen to be in some gun free-zone area. Another thing though, just obey the speed limits around the State/City/Town as usual, LEO like to pull over out of State speeders. ($$$Cha-Ching ). Word of caution, not sure how I-40 is on your end, but the last time I traveled I-40 in April of this year coming and going, between Albuquerque and Gallup, NM watch for potholes throughout the trip :man_facepalming: but don’t know if they’ve been filled/worked on since, especially the right lane caused by heavy semi-truck traffic. By the way NM Governor, where’s the NM Infrastructure money?

IDK, but that “restrictions” term might be mainly a USCCA verbiage/terminology. Not sure what they mean. If you’re aged 21 or higher, I think you’d mainly be in good legal shape, but don’t take my word for it.

Per the USCCA site, it does read in NM,

" New Mexico recognizes permits from states with reciprocity agreements. "

" New Mexico Concealed Carry Reciprocity With Other States

Which states’ permits does New Mexico honor?

Arizona (at least 21 years old) "

https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/nm-gun-laws/

“ The minimum age to concealed carry in New Mexico is 21. Any person who is at least 19 years old and legally entitled to possess a firearm can open carry; state law limits concealed carry license holders to carrying one concealed gun at any given time. However, any number of firearms can be openly carried.”

There are also certain restrictions around “CARRY IN BARS/RESTAURANTS THAT SERVE ALCOHOL; CARRY/POSSESS AT A HOTEL; TRIBAL LAND”.
