The snakes will find you wherever you are.
We have had many who walked before us even though afraid of the snakes, we can do no less.
Each to their own.
You don’t need to fear the snakes, but you don’t want to give them the advantage.
It’s sort of like working around the enemy lines. You make your plans and advance with them, but do you want to give away your position because you aren’t afraid of the enemy?
We all have to make our own decisions and choose our own fights. I only avoid shirts and signs that would make me look like someone that I am not. I wouldn’t have a problem with a USCCA shirt or NRA shirt.
There’s a plan!
USCCA, send me a shirt…or even better, a jacket. I’m a walking billboard…make that a Bobboard.
.39 Super Special…
Kids? You realize the guitar player is a Van Zant?
Donnie Van Zant. They formed in 1974 I believe.
His brother Ronnie formed Lynyrd Skynyrd. His other brother Johnnie took over vocals for Skynyrd later.
OMG! I laughed out loud when I read that, @Gary_H! I hope you don’t mind, I’ve shared it with a few people around the office who would appreciate the story.
They should call themselves .38 Special +P.
I had a wall of vinyl converted to digital. Don’t really add a lot of new material to that wall. Guess that my age is showing.
That antenna would be different, but probably unremarked upon where I live. A few might ask where I had gotten it, and by next month there would be at least a dozen in town.
I see so many Ruger and Glock stickers in car windows that I have really stopped noticing them. See a fair number of Smith & Wesson hats too. I’ve been tempted to put a Walther sticker on something or other, but I’m still busy being stealth. I make it clear talking to people that I like guns, and when they open their wallet to get me their insurance cards, I note that I “like that blue ID,” but I don’t show my gun or talk much about it.
Yes sir, I still have a huge collection of vinyl. If I wanted to part with it, I could finance s few additions to the gun collection. Ticket stubs from the last concert of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd. My wife had just picked up the newly released Street Survivors album. After the concert she realized her watch band had broken and was missing. The whole Skynyrd band and road crew were finishing breaking set and loading up for travel. They saw the very pretty red haired girl and just had to help out…seriously though they were very nice and helpful.
When the watch was found there in the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium, the entire band and crew signed our album. As we left, that group headed for the downtown airport for that fateful flight. That would have been one of the few or maybe the only first edition Street Survivor album signed by the entire crew and band. It certainly was the last sadly. That was just the fourth date on the tour. Sadly also, the Greenville Memorial Auditorium has been gone for a while now. They brought it down to make way for the new fancy venues that today hemorrhage money. I played one of my favorite shows in that great old place, back around 1974 I believe. Growing up I must have seen 20 or more concerts, circuses, and ice shows there.
I have lots of collectible first albums or significant albums from the Beatles to all the great homegrown talent.
I’m sorry for the run on.
Anybody remember the Meet the Beatles album? I have two.
I used to have 2 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida albums, but somebody stole one of them
I seriously did not mean to derail this thread, but it is interesting to hear more about people’s backgrounds
I have Iron Butterfly. A very misunderstood band.
In a Gadda Da Vida wasn’t written under the influence of drugs, but there was a very large bottle of wine involved.
Listen to the “psychedelic” guitar sounds. They are actually representing animal sounds in the Garden of Eden. You can hear elephant, dinosaur, and others. Nothing in that piece was accidental.
Strangely enough, I have a significant ABBA collection with every album ever produced, tickets with receipts where bought for every North American Concert and some overseas Shows.
I, mostly, remember the women at these concerts as dates and otherwise. It was great times.
You didn’t turn the one B around lol.
As a former B52G gunner I would love one of these, as I was in charge of 4 machine guns that fired that round. With that said, living in Washington State makes it not so smart, as there are a lot of snowflakes here that with not only steal it, they will key tour car for having it.
I never wear clothing that advertises for anyone so except for a knowledge of who sells what, no one can discern anything about my views on anything! Plain non-descriptive clothing allows access to most common areas without provoking animus.
Howdy @PlumRed! Welcome.
Rural Northern Lower Michigan here. Living in the mitten state, one of the most common bumper stickers I see is that of the mitten holding a handgun, I don’t think anyone would notice let alone care about a .50 bmg antenna.
Howdy @Jedidiah
It’s not the passers by we’re concerned with. We can’t please everyone. Don’t want to try.
It’s the prosecutor if you ever end up in court after an unfortunate defence incident. An aggressive antigun prosecutor will use everything that can be found to paint you as a vigilante type radical to a jury that has no clue about honest caring concealed weapon carriers or gun laws. If I didn’t have a CWP, and was of course never carrying in public, I would be more likely to display things like this.
A man and wife can have nice intimate moments showing affection toward one another at home, and maybe some places in public (we’re not getting THAT intimate). If they exhibit the same behavior in a grammar school or at a church altar, they would most likely be judged harshly. It’s not that it’s wrong. You just don’t want to give some people too much opportunity against you.
Of course too much public intimacy is not good judgment even though intimacy between husband and wife is healthy. BTW, just a note…I believe it is a good thing for your children to grow up seeing healthy intimate moments between their parents. I taught my children that one of the best gifts a father can give his children is to let them see he loves their mother.
Agreed as far as legal concerns go. I must have misread the topic as drawing attention to yourself (grey man).
I have to admit that I sometimes wear my NRA shirt that says on the back “Keep Calm and Carry Guns”. I get more, “Bro, I love that shirt” from guys as well as the ladies a lot! It is my most popular t-shirt. I even wear it from time to time in Costco,in Austin! I get the same reaction, positive.
If I were ever to get a negative reaction from someone who is ill-informed and intolerant, I plan to say, “I’m sorry you don’t care for my shirt. I have been FBI background checked and have extensive training and I promise to protect you in the event of imminent death or great bodily harm in the event you are attacked.”
