"Assault weapon" and AR15 terminology

Only if Kleenex possession is a felony and other people are telling you that your Puffs are Kleenex and need banned because they are actually Kleenex

Really though even that doesn’t work because operationally kleenex and puffs are identifical

Machine guns and semi automatics are not identical like puffs and kleenex are

Don’t assume that the same people who call magazines clips distinguish between automatic and semi-automatic.
And besides, AR stands for atomic rifle, that’s why they are so dangerous.

I will do that.

I agree totally. I just wanted to throw that tidbit of info for those that may not know that and certainly not a slam on your post.

With or without lotion, there is a difference

Like when women go through a box of Kleenex watching a movie and men go through a box of Kleenex watching a movie it’s not the same. :flushed:

Totally agree. This clip is from the first Rambo movie, and it shows a pretty good representation of an actual assault rifle, the M16. Please note, none of my ARs can do this, not even close.

Both fire the same cartridge, .22lr
Both are semi automatic,
Both have removable magazines,

One is scary black composite, clearly that’s the dangerous one!

We as a society did not allow the term assault weapon or rifle to be used over and over again, it was fostered upon up by well heeled and organized anti-gunners with willing free assistance from the mainstream media.

They and their mentally deranged anti gunning useful idiots have gone so far as to apply the title of gun nuts, along with accusations that guns owners need guns to make up for their shortness of manhood a few inched below their belts, totally ignoring females are becoming one of the largest group of new gun owners fully understanding they live in a society where they mist be able to defend themselves.

In my opinion and I believe many men and women gun owners would agree with me is those mentally deranged anti gunning useful idiots are in fact projecting.

They know what they are and think everyone must be just like them and that is why guns scare them so much, though I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that some of them actually own guns but would never admit to doing so. .

Yeah, how do you quote someone???

on desktop you just highlight what you want to quote and click the quote button after it pops up. I would imagine mobile is the same.

I’d probably call it a .223 semiauto (as opposed to a .223 bolt action), but that’s just me. I refer to all my firearms by cartridge and action. It seems natural and was how I was raised around guns of all types.

We had 30.06 bolt deer rifles, 12 guage pump shotguns and 38 revolvers, etc.

Didn’t find this one until after I posted my 15-22/10-22 picture.

Somehow need to get these anti gunners to recognize this, and not turn it into, “then the 10-22 should be illegal!!!”

That’s not wrong but it’s not as precise or useful a name as it could be.

If you ask me what firearm I am using for ____, and I say “a .223 semiauto”…that gives you less information than if I say “an AR type in 5.56”

The goal should be clear communication, IMO, and a less descriptive name goes the opposite direction.

But the problem is, the MSM have taught the general public to think of certain style firearms as “scary and evil.”

Where I come from, we hunted turkey with .223 bolt action rifles. According to FJB and Cameltoe, if you shoot a deer with an AR15 it makes the meat unusable, and if you shoot a person with an “AR” you’ll blow their lungs clean out of their body! Somehow the turkey were good to eat, but a deer would be ruined? hmmmmm?.

Does the general public know that the “22” they shot in boy scout camp and the super-duper scary, evil, military-killing machine AR15 are the exact same caliber??? Hell, my brother fills his freezer with deer shot with a fuc#in .50 caliber muzzleloader. That’s some serious bullet energy compared to the little .223 cartridge, and the meat is awesome.

Well, obviously your brother isn’t using the hypersonic/exploding/incendiary/hollow point magazine /clipped bullets that the AR-15 fires!
