Heart warming
yes it is but the news casters wont concede that armed citizens are good to go when required,or not required in an issue
If you mean responsibly armed I think it speaks for it self. It speaks to me and is implied. I donāt think he was trying to hide the fact but ya never know.
The fact that it requires so much effort to even acknowledge that a good guy with a gun, did a good thing. Is something that I can not understand.
Add in that on a follow up article they added 2 anti 2A opinions that it wasnāt necessarily good that a Concealed Carrier got involved.
How in the f#$@ are we at this point?
IMHO that good Samaritan was a hero. He saved the lives of 2 police officers and he legally possessed his firearm. Give that man a cigar and throw him a parade.
Do you know how to react or what consequences youād face if this ever happened to youā¦?
Youāre getting ready to make a grocery store run ⦠one youāve made hundreds of times beforeā¦
Before heading out, you grab your car keys, wallet, and your concealed carry pistol.
On your way into the store, you notice a shabby-looking guy sitting there, rocking back and forth, muttering gibberishā¦
You give him PLENTY of room as you skirt by him and into the store, determined to make a dent in your shopping list.
After you finish, you head out of the store and notice things have changed significantlyā¦
The mumbling man is no longer sitting thereā¦
ā¦and where the parking lot had been practically empty, thereās now a crowd gathered.
People are screaming and shouting things likeā¦
āGet off him!ā and ā¦
āBeat him good!ā
You notice a police cruiser nearby as you mind your own business to get back to your car.
But as you try to slip by the mass of people, they part slightly, just enough for you to notice that something very serious is going on hereā¦
On the ground are some coiled wires from a taser and you get a whiff of lingering pepper spray.
And then you see himā¦
The guy who had earlier been mumbling at the entrance to the store is now in a physical struggle with a uniformed police officer.
The officer is taking blows to her head and then, the guy breaks one hand free and delivers a crushing blow to the officerās face.
The attacker clearly has the upper hand and the officer begins to fall forward from the debilitating blow to her head.
At the same time, the guy reaches for the officerās belt and begins tugging at somethingā¦
You see heās pulling on the officerās holster as she struggles to keep control of her gun.
But the attacker sees another weaponā¦
ā¦the copās expandable baton.
He grabs it, flicks it open, and begins beating the officer on the back and upside her already bloody head.
Sheās trying to shield herself from the blows and sheās clearly stunned
and unable to fight.
Soā¦
What do you do?
If you decide to get involved, you canā¦
-
Reach for your phone and call 911to report an officer in trouble
-
You can charge forward and tackle the man whoās swinging the baton
-
You can draw your pistol and order the man to stop his assault
-
Or you can draw your pistol and fire immediately
But which of these actions ā if any ā is right?
Make no mistakeā¦
ā¦wading into a fight you otherwise have no part in is a big decision.
It always requires forethought and clear-headed decision-making.
Which means you need to think about it well before you are presented with such a situation.

FYI @Johnnyq60 is a wonderful example of a LEO. Sorry for shining my word spotlight on you @Johnnyq60. I think you and the Missus are my kind of people, even though you were a danged Yankee.
I had/went through a mental evaluation of my physical capabilities and limitations, my Maslow Hierarchy of Needs if you will. Quite honestly, Iām a shell of the man I was, in just the amount of time I have been with the USCCA. My āworld has been steadily shrinkingā due to health from the moment I broke and crushed the vertebrate in my back.
I went from athletic making a fantastic living for my family to crippled, regained the ability to walk, went back to school got a new Bachelor degree/Masters degree, started a new career, then had to retire as I just couldnāt do it, so I consulted. To lessened activity, Itās been degrading and humiliating to accept my physical limitations. But it is what it is. Im still here and Iām still battling.
The purpose of that previous paragraph was why I changed my habits. I only carry my Glock 41, and when I do get to the range I only use my Glock 41 and I only shoot SD Ammo. Usually Hornady Critical Defense. Though I do carry 2 mags, 1 of Critical Duty, as I can very clearly see a time and place for needing a round that can defeat a barrier, and a mag of Critical Defense, they are clearly marked and carried in different locations on me. I carry the same number of knives I have always carried. Im a big enough guy that I can still conceal it all, and I do follow the generalized rule āpants on guns onā even just laying here in bed. My Glock is 12" from me.
But, and this is my truth, if I saw a uniformed officer down and in need. My wife would be calling for back up and I would help the Officer. Im not going to play the mental masturbation game of āwhat if itās an undercover officer, who is arresting a fake officerā. The chances of that happening are so microscopically small, I feel that I can make peace with it in my mind and thatās fine with me.
Can I live with myself in the aftermath? I make a distinction, all of the time on this forum. There is a difference between a Law Enforcement Officer and a Cop. Iām pro LEO, and Anti-Cop.
Edit: Why did I bump a 2 year old post. Someone gave a previous post in this thread a , and in light of other threads here recently I wanted to give a more detailed reply.
Edit the 2nd: I do drag my rifles along sometimes and plink away.
Thatās kind of the way I feel mentally. I am in good physical shape. I would rather save a human life even if I have to go to jail for murder than let an innocent person be murdered.
I understand where you are coming from brother @Zavier_D. I thank you for the kind words. Yes I am a Yankee fan
I am saddened by your condition and will pray for you my brother. I agree 100 percent with
Some of the things cops do nowadays are unprofessional and uncourteous. I considered myself as an LEO. I related to others and gave the benefit of the doubt. I believed in using discretion in certain situations. I believe thatās why I was able to perform my duties without having to escalate situations. Being levelheaded is very important . I thank you @Zavier_D for the man that you are and will always continue to be.
