Another mass shooting. Brace yourselves for more calls for gun control

It’s too close to midterm elections for Brandon to put any restrictions on AR’s. Lots of democrats own AR’s and that would mean loss of votes.

Conversely it is close to midterms and possibly they (politicians) may feel it is necessary to restrict ARs to secure their election. They are not listening to voters and taxpayers on any issues now like gas prices, inflation and shortages, why would that stop them now? Also they have been legislating through agencies like the ATF so personally I think very few politicians care at all. That won’t stop me from voting, however we need to get 96% of these clowns out of office.

Well, Brandon made his trip to Buffalo after the shooting and not one word about gun control was brought up.

Looking at other countries that have restrictive gun laws, people tend to turn to knives of all sizes, “blunt objects”, and IEDs. Individuals of ill intent will find a way.

They (we) already have. After the Civil War, laws were passed to deny African- Americans the right to bear arms. They were the “Jim Crow” laws.

The bigger issue is mental health. I live 2 miles from Sandy Hook Elementary, my kids went to school with the boy who did this. He did have Asperger’s which in itself is not an issue but it was a broken family and the boy was becoming unstable and the mother knew it but did nothing to get him help. She was a survivalist with several guns but did not lock them up. This was preventable to some degree. This kid in Buffalo they clearly knew he was not ok but again did nothing. Rather than fixing the problem use the crisis to push through your anti gun legislation which does not help the mental health issues

No need for the Patriot Act Actually. One thing in common with a bulk of these Mass Shooters… They all posted on social media their ill intentions and what they were going to do, even terrorists.

He’s having Corey Booker do his heavy lifting. If a Republican president did this it would be called racial plandering.

Nothing is perfectly foreseeable. However, in the face of denial and magical thinking everything is uphill.
Not even close to a new challenge, but as formidable as ever. Nose to the grindstone.

Please also note that the vast majority of mass shootings happen in democrat controlled states. Also pay attention to the deliberate dumbing down of the “justice system” over the last 30 years. During the “pandemic” the &*!!#?? governor of California released repeat violent criminals to …HOUSE ARREST…think about it. I watch Albuquerque “news” because it’s all I can get in SW Colorado…over and over repeat offenders are either given a light “sentence” or even released before trial…VOILA! Where’s the defendant. One case a few years ago: a large “woman of color” pounded on a police officer, spent the night in jail and was released the next morning WITH NO CHARGES! There is no longer a justice system, by design. Think about it and be prepared.

I’m well prepared, but I do buy more ammo every election day. It’s the only vote that is worth anything.

200 rds? That’s just enough for a 1/2 day carbine class!
Preparing would be ordering a case of 100 -30 round magazines and 10,000 more rounds of 556 ammo. Just saying🤷🏼‍♂️

Exactly! I wonder how many people in that grocery store were armed. Better yet, I wonder how many on the store property even had a tourniquet or other first aid equipment with them? No one prepares and they expect the police or “the government” to come save them.
The sooner people realize they are their own first responder and start acting like it, the better off they will be

I have been wondering what kind of guilt I would feel if I survived a mass shooting event but was unarmed and unable to save lives. I’m not blaming any of the victims, just reflecting on my own level of preparedness.

My question to you is why would you go anywhere unarmed and have you taken a stop the bleed course or had any first aid training?
Do you carry a first aid kit in your car or on your body?
Besides my CCW and a spare magazine ( along with several hundred hours of tactical weapons training), l ’m usually found with an ankle first-aid kit (tourniquet, quick clot gauzes, chest seals) also carry one in every vehicle and backpack.

I am my own first responder

I have absolutely no connection with these people other than having been a customer. These make great gifts to loved ones and close friends. The life they save may be yours!

Because either it’s forbidden or because I just don’t feel like it. And I gave up trying to justify my own decisions to folks on the internet.

I’m not an EMT. I can stop the bleeding until the medic arrives, but if you’re the medic and waiting for me to save your life, you’d better find religion.

In the car.

Life is full of decisions and you’ve made yours. You either put yourself in a position to help yourself and others or you don’t. It’s all individual choice
I never want to be in a position to be making a phone call pleading for cops and medical to get there in time. You’ve heard them,“ please hurry they’re killing everyone.” I would rather get to work solving the problem until help arrives.

I wouldn’t put it in past tense. I have to continuously make decisions throughout each day. And I continue to change based on what I’m learning- changing mostly for the better, I hope.

I love hearing that and good on you

I took what you said about being at a mass shooting and being unable to help people but just imagine if the people you were unable to help were your children or your spouse. That is what made me take my skills to the next level and always be prepared. I would hate to think I lost a loved one because of a lack of preparedness on my part
