When you hit the on things is it because, 1) you are in agreement with what is being said or 2) you respect the opinion shared?
I myself do it mostly in respect of one’s opinion which we all have ( an opinion).

Good question, @Lu-Can. Certainly do this for choice 1, sometimes for choice 2. If a simple isn’t clear enough, an additional comment too.
@Alces_Americanus , it crossed my mind so thought I would put it out there.
As for me, I like it. Mostly true or funny. Or both.
I hit when agree or respect not agreeing
Definitely like, but not necessarily share the sentiment.
my trigger finger starts spasming, next thing I know, I’m liking A LOT!!
Birds of a feather flock together. Seems that same people have similar thoughts most of the time. Others not so much. I Support trouble fixers, not trouble makers.
I probably don’t enough. I’ll upvote something I like or agree with, but I’ll also upvote something I disagree with if it’s a good argument, clever, or funny.

It just depends. I wish emojis were an option.
Sometimes, it means I don’t necessarily agree but find the post interesting.
If I like, it is because I like. I respect anyone’s opinion but, does not mean I will just like a comment just because. So, if you see a like from me you got my seal of approval.
I agree with the opinion and how it is being said.
Probably mostly 1 for me but also 2 if a valid point is being well laid out even though I may not completely agree.
Sometimes I give a thumbs up to people who have replied directly to a comment I made to let them know I got and understand their response though I have nothing further to add to the discussion. In which case points 1 or 2 may or may not also apply:)
How about that you don’t necessarily like or agree with the opinion but just want to acknowledge the opinion. Since we only have a button, it is the only one to choose.
that’s"respect" in my case
Do all opinions deserve that (this isn’t a brainstorming session, right?). Isn’t that how Springer/Ohhh-pra pulled the fringes into the mainstream, then made them the mainstream?
I find that I gave every post in this string a for one reason or another. I refrain from the
