Is anyone else (community, city, county state) considering passing a 2A Sanctuary proposition? If so, what path did you take to get there?
There’s some here in IL, but the movement seems to have stalled out, lot of countries have declared already but those who have either not committed or just not interested or not allowed seems to have stopped hearing about the matter.
Unless the elected officials want to start it themselves, I think to be truly effective it needs something like a voter initiative.
In Texas given that Bloomberg is setting his puppet show in force here, we should be thinking about this or simply getting the voter registration drive out. It should start with the 200K plus people that have CCH permits.
There are Kentucky cities and counties that are doing this. Unfortunately, Louisville keeps asking the state to be an exception to state preemption.
Ohio has one. There is a vote for a second. Need all counties across the entire United States to become part of the movement
Colorado (I think) started it. Virginia is currently going whole cheeto on the 2A sanctuary movement, and we’ll see how effective it will be.
In Virginia, the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) worked with the Gun Owners of America (GOA) to craft bills with the correct language (aka vetted by lawyers who are familiar with constitution and federal and state law) to make sure it is enforceable. Those bills were then given to 2A friendly advocates on the boards of all the counties who put it up to vote.
Michigan has a big movement underway but it’s just starting. Over 80,000 have joined the fb page for it in the last month. They are just now organizing into county groups.
A Happy 2.22.22 A Day to you all
All .22 firearms should have been half off today😀
