Where are the USCCA & NRA Instructors?

If you are a USCCA Instructor, why do you not use the retricted Instructor Forum here?
Do you frequent the closed USCCA Instructor Group on FaceBook?
Why?
FaceBook causes problems for firearms topics, and is a major privacy problem.
If you are an NRA Instructor but not certified by USCCA, why not?

@Daniel599 , There is an area here open only to instructors. Send a message to a moderator to ask for access. It has been effectively dormant for several years, but with ongoing FB challenges, I am hoping it becomes THE place for instructor cross-talk.

Thank you! I will try that

I am a USCCA Instructor. I applied to get into the Instructor Forum but haven’t heard anything back yet. That was a couple of weeks ago. I have support checking on it.

I’m trying to my business off the ground. I will be teaching Concealed carry, emergency first aid, CPR, AED, and stop the bleed for starters. I plan to add to that in the near future tho.

Because my Training Counselor was certified by NRA so I started there and I never have had interest to be USCCA Instructor.

@Jerzees I also started with NRA, and happened to meet my USCCA TC in my NRA efforts. I recommend you look into certifying with USCCA and using both curricula. With the modular build of the CCHDF courses, the ability to teach individual topics as mini course, and an earlier discussion of self-defense issues in CCHDF than the NRA course sequence, I get some flexibility of having both.

We are in New Mexico. My husband and I teach personal safety and home defense, firearm basics and laser fire. We also do live fire and assist in a student’s firearm selection.

We are also working on getting our business up and running. Have been teaching for free for a bit, mostly friends and neighbors, just to get some experience with the power points. It’s going well so far but slowly since we have another business that is our primary income.

Here’s a tip I got from my TC. The CCHDF slides tend to be pretty wordy, setting up a problem of students reading them in detail instead of listening to and watching you. On each slide, pick one word or two in each sentence as the bullet point for that line and bold those few words. Then pitch your talk with those points as your outline, brining attention to you instead of the paragraphs on the slide.

Thanks! That’s a great idea.

I chose to let my uscca instructor certifications lapse for reasons.

I’ve been in the instructor forum here. Not much going on there but I’ll try again. Thanks for reminding me it exists.

I was an USCCA instructor, but Washington State does not recognize the USCCA. I want to keep up on my knowledge and skills. I hopefully will get somewhere I can be a free American soon.
