Do we have any South Carolina members besides me? I know we do.

I think @Kiest, an AWESOME instructor I trained with, is both SC and MD… not sure what area though.
Kiest is one of those instructors I hold in very high regard… he’s taught me some Very Useful Things.
Once again, I appreciate you and your kind words. I’m actually located in MD and NC.
Almost made it, didn’t you.
Former South Carolinian. Been in North Idaho for 5 years.
No wandering. North Idaho is more home for this old southern boy than South Carolina had become. There will always be some sandlapper in me(still have a Confederate flag from atop the statehouse framed on my wall), but Idaho is awesome! Incredible wildlife and geography, friendly people, no signage laws, constitutional carry, very few Democrats, no humidity, no Clemson, and none of my wife’s family within 2500 miles!
SC isn’t defined by the rebel flag. We embrace our history though. We love all our citizens, but I have to admit that it must be nice living liberal free. But then, if we don’t stay and raise our voice for the conservative view of the constitution, who will?
And it gets cold up there.
No Clemson also means no national champions.
I certainly didn’t mean to imply that SC was defined by the Confederate flag, just that I still am attached to the history of the place. Though I do not hold a negative view of the flag or it’s pre-civil rights era history. True, but it’s nice to live where it feels like the good guys are winning. The cold here is not near as bad as the humidity there. Clemson won the national championship? We don’t pay much attention to that up here. And, don’t forget, no in-laws!
We haven’t won the championship yet, but we’re in the final four.
Remember. It’s not the heat, it’s the humility…goes for the cold too.
I’m not sure you meant to say it that way, but I like it - ‘it’s not the heat, it’s the HUMILITY’.
I did. It’s something many of us say here.
Guess I’ve been away from upstate SC a long time. Don’t remember that one. I grew up in the upstate, but spent 2 decades down around Columbia before moving out west. Whenever you see peach with a hemorrhoid, you’re real close to my people.
That would be Gaffney…the Peachoid. Famous landmark too. I grew up between Laurens County and Isle of Palms. I miss my little island. It’s basically all resort now.

Yeah, I know where Williston is. Wasn’t there once Williston Elko High School?
