When you carry what clothes do you wear?

Have you tried flex jeans? Those types of jeans have a flexible waistband without being feminine. Old Navy carried them

At this risk of taking a hit to the man card. These jeans changed everything for me and carrying concealed. There is just enough stretch in them that i can carry a Glock 19 iwb and not have to buy a size bigger than i normally wear. Which is great that i dont have to guess which gun im going to carry vs which pants to wear. As stated before shirt length is more of an issue than before i started carrying.

I’ll have to try a pair of those next time I buy jeans. I don’t feel the jeans I wear have a feminine quality. The fly is a bit short, and the pockets a bit small, but the rear pockets are plain, and there’s really no way of seeing much difference from a distance. There’s really nothing that makes them stand out. The only problem I have is when I exercise, and my calves are pumped, they fill out the lower leg. Small inconvenience for a durable, comfortable pair of jeans. Plus, I was getting them at a great price, about $7.00 a pair, so there’s that, too.

I love this conversation and the amount of humor and camaraderie here. And the fact that it’s a no-judgement zone is awesome!

I have to ask @AAlan - where do you find women’s jeans for $7??

In the Northeast, there’s a retail chain called Ocean State Job Lot. I worked for them for 13 years. They have great deals on closeouts, but carry regular items as well. I always bought jeans there because I went through them quickly working with their construction teams. Since I changed jobs last year, I still have about 10 pairs that I’ll be cycling through for a long time. I don’t know if their prices have changed since.

When it comes to the clothing I wear while I carry it’s really nothing special. I almost always wear an over size graphic T (occasionally with a button up shirt over it) and, either cargo pants or, jeans most often from the $20-30 rack at Walmart. The graphic T’s that I wear are most often comic book themed since I am and, will always be a bit of a dork.

I’m a little late seeing this but THANKS this gives me ideas for new cloths. I wear wranglers now. I like my Wrangler shirts too. But Deleuth caught my attention. I’m glad you found something for you, @AAlan. I like the idea of getting cargo pants like my Army BDUs, Yes, I’m old. My wife has been buying me cloths that don’t work. They tight and uncomfortable. I don’t like clothes that feel like I’m about to moon the world as I bend over to pick stuff up. I was wearing XL t-shirts but she complained so I went back to L. I like loose fitting cloths for comfort. I like/prefer long tail shirts. The trend is for shorter tail. I’ve out of my element.

@KillJoy My first wife was all about appearances. My style could be called ā€œlumberjackā€. Didn’t work out so well. It pays to keep searching until you find clothes and a style that suits you both. I hope you can find a style that suits you both.

Married 30 years. I just stopped buying clothes 10 years ago. I came home and have been pinching pennies trying to set her up with retirement. She’ll outlive me by 30 years probably. I’m 100% disabled through the VA. I gained a lot of weight and am not motivated to buy cloths I want to drop size on. But I’m trying to get realistic. It’s not that she’s trying to change my style because she likes my normal style.but rather she’s trying to restore me. I’m sort of broken. My disabilities has gotten me down. Getting LTC sort of gave me my man card back because I feel like I can be protector again. I have a lot of injuries from active duty and I’m not even a combat vet.

Wow, that’s a tough story. The ability to work together is a blessing, and I’m glad that you have someone to travel beside you.

@AAlan try these Wranglers Flex. I bought them not even knowing they were stretchy. They feel like regular Jean’s for the most part. They work great for any kind of bending or lifting as well as carrying IWB. Other jeans will get too tight when get in a car with my gun and cause it to be uncomfortable 15522624042554316855141589930799

I got myself some utility pants, vacuum sealed a few pairs and I wear a couple other pairs. Got like 4-5 pairs of these when I think there was a sale or mis-listing as I got them all for roughly $24 each pair…Screenshot_20190310-182914_Amazon%20Shopping

They are rugged, hold up to abuse and feel almost as if I dont need a belt to lock in my holster (I always wear a belt)

I usually wear cargo shorts in warmer weather. Anybody give me ideas for shirt cover?

Carhartt T-shirts with an unbuttoned shirt over that works great for me. The T-shirt will do the job by itself, the unbuttoned shirt makes me look more my age.

Dude, I hope it’s a Hawaiian shirt. Everytime I see a guy with aviator sun glasses and a Hawaiian shirt I think, ā€œ90% chance that dude has a revolver.ā€ I’m already certain he has a gun, but something says he’s carrying a 3" barrel .357 and like 3 speed loaders.

:rofl::rofl: no it’s not a revolver, right now. It is a .45, if that makes it any better .

And this is the only time I believe this if you have a Hawaiian shirt it better be a 1911.

@45IPAC & @James You need one of these shirts. I wear it with a black t shirt underneath if I’m dressing up for something. I have a few like it, different colors. In the colder weather I have a brown button up leather coat I wear over it. My son says ā€œYou look like a hitman for the Mafia!ā€20190311_201056
