It would cleanup one of our biggest messes , the invasion at the southern border, and the amount of drugs and human trafficking. I know this isn’t possible, but I guess I’m just a dreamer.

As long as you’re dreaming and not actively pushing our leaders for an invasion of a foreign country to get rid of terrorists. Cause the last time we tried that it took over 20 years, thousands of soldiers’ lives, countless civilian lives and trillions of dollars.
Plus it didn’t seem to end so well unless you ask our current President who seems to think it all went very smoothly. Though he may be confusing Afghanistan with his last trip to the bathroom.

The invasion was the easy part. That was over in weeks. The real problem was when they decided to use the military to turn a land-locked, 3rd-world country into a modern, properous democracy. That’s what took 20 years, bajillions of dollars, and 2,400+ lives.
Same would happen in Mexico. Could we invade it and even control it? Sure. But then we’d be stuck with it. That’s the problem.

I’m sure many will not agree with me, but “fight fire with fire”. If the cartels are willing to be ruthless, then we need to.
If it takes congress to change the law or pass one send Combat Troops to deal with the situation. That means the Army has authority to engage with deadly force if necessary on either side of the border.

The WSJ version of this story said the police had been called before because he was shooting rifles in his own back yard. How many times do you have to tell a guy to stop shooting firearms in the neighborhood before you run a background check on him and find out he has a history?

I am quite sure we know everything about cartels, warehousing locations, manufacturing facilities, even where all leaders live. If the USA wanted to get involved it would be easy targets for our drone strikes, also good training hands on. This should be a daily objective until there are no more cartels. We have the means if the US Government wanted to get involved. This would all lead to a SAFE MEXICO where citizens would feel safe and no longer wanting to cross the border. This would also lead to immigrants who have already crossed to maybe return to a safe mexico. The USA could the stop with the free hand outs and benifits they receive. The money that is seized from the cartels could be used to secure Mexico’s southern borders. In my opinion the New Mexico will make so much more money because everyone (Tourism) will be great again. Just my opinion.

MONEY! Cartels make many Many governments and countries lots and lots of money 
!. I see many people keep blaming the so called “failed war on drugs” the issue with Cartels, this is so far from reality if you truly believe that Cartels are so powerful and dangerous and organized as they are just because of drugs.
So so sorry To burst your bubbles, the war on drugs was not the reason and is not the reason Cartels are so strong, powerful, and implethara.
Cartels do so SO much more than just drugs… from Weapons, to people, to animals, vehicles(including planes and boats), money, drugs, jewelry, and POLITICS.
The Cartels have made and always will make certain governments around the world political, noticeable, and rich, while at the samw time looking like the bad guys always. Our own government makes more money off of cocaine sales then most Cartels, doese this make our government a cartel??
Cartel members sit on certain seats in high places with high people, yes including our own house,congress,senate,…ect. Shake hands with powerful people and even countries, too move many types of products all over the world.
Cartels are not going anywhere, they will change their name’s, the way the game is played, and just continue towards becoming bigger and bigger, stronger and stronger.
I have been to many countries and one thing i noticed while being in these places was,…that many of the contries think of America…yes our great U.S.A, as a Cartel. Think about that for a moment.

So how do we stop all the trafficking ? I agree with Brian510, we could and should take out the cartels. We don’t need to police the whole world, we need to protect our own country. Why do we need to finance Ukraine’s border defense when we can’t protect our own border. Why do we have troops all over the world, when our country is being invaded? Take out the cartels in Mexico, then ALLOW Mexico to join the US. Mexico’s southern border would be a lot easier to protect than the Mexico / US border. Like TissYou1911 says our own Government makes more off of cocaine sales than the cartels. This has to stop!! I believe that a good portion of our government are coke addicts, that’s why it is allowed to continue. That and the fact that they are backing the sale of coke here in our country. The cartels need to be stopped mainly because of the HUMAN trafficking. I personally don’t give a crap about the cars and planes , and boats , it’s the human trafficking that needs to stop. How do we cull the cartel members from our government ? The cartels in North America needs to be eliminated first. But how do we successfully do that ? I think a good start would be to quit the fixation on Trump and concentrate on the real problems. Quit the infighting between our political parties, and work together to solve the real problems. Never mind about hunter’s drug habits and whores and fixate on the government corruption instead. Make consequences for the lies that the are told by the media, politicians, and Hollywood jacka$$es . we need to focus on the real issues. But the million dollar question is HOW ?? How do we get this country back on the right path ? How do we become a God fearing nation again before it’s too late ?? If it’s not too late already ??
And I believe that other countries think of the USA as a cartel, our politicians are set on controlling the rest of the world. We need to put our own house in order first.

I liked DeSantis’s answer during the last debate, he said he would “On day 1 send Special Forces to Mexico to take them out”, I do not know if he actually could do that as President but I’m okay with it!
