I’m just a mere Bible student, trying to serve God The best I can. That’s a great post.. I wish more churches would organize security teams! I don’t think the Christian world realizes how dangerous attending church can be. Just look at all the attacks in recent years. The worst is coming soon. I haven’t attended a church in several years. (Other reasons). I try to stay away from Walmart too. The head of my security team is Jesus. Might want to read Rev. 17&18.

I respect everyone’s right to believe anything they want to. For me. The passover, last supper and crucifixion were confusing when I was just reading the Bible. Part of it was the Judean calandar. Part of it was opinions from people I knew who believed the Bible is open to interpretation by each individual. But the Bible doesn’t say it’s open to interpretation. It’s God’s word. Simple, believe it, or not. Actually studying the Bible is different than reading it. However, if anyone wants to argue with God about it; that’s not between them and me. It’s between them and God. I would be glad to go thru those last 4 days of the Christ’s life here on earth, scripture by scripture with anyone using whatever Christian Bible they want to try to clear things up. My E-mail. I respect everyone’s right to believe, it is when someone tries to tell me something means something other than what it says I have to stand up for what it says. It is what it is, it’s never what you(one) think(s).

I agree totally. That’s one reason why I quit going to churches. I’m not the sharpest knife in the block, but I have been educated to the point I can read and understand English language. Others language’s; not so much. There are some figurative scriptures. Especially Revelation. And also the parables, which even the apostles didn’t understand and Jesus had to explain the parable to them.. but he only spoke in parables to unbelievers and the Jewish leaders at that time.

Jesus spoke in parables so we would understand. When other people do it it is because they don’t understand or they are trying to deceive someone.

Yep . 100% correct. But the apostles themselves didn’t always understand totally. They only spent a short time with him. An example is (Matt. 13:24). The apostles asked Jesus to explain; (Matt. 13:36), to them. I don’t always get it right either. I’m not anointed by God, nor do I have any special insight, nor am I gifted with anything, in anyway, that elevates my understanding of the Bible above anyone else. In fact most people who apply themselves probably figure things out quicker than I do. I do not have any special skills mentally or physically. I think I had something to brag about at one time, but I have forgotten what it was! The high points of my life today is studying the Bible reloading, (experimenting with loads for accuracy, testing the capabilities). burning lots of powder, training myself to avoid problems, morally and legally. Also to be able to survive aggressive and wrong place, wrong time,self defense encounters. Probably sound crazy . A Bible in one hand, a revolver in the other.

Wow. I’m surprised there are not any Joan Osborne references here. I may have just doxed my age a bit. Regardless, good for you, staying educated on the history and maintaining the traditions. Stay good, stay armed, stay safe.
