@NJStraightShooter sorry about the dead deer photos, I feel that if Iām going to eat meat Iām going to shoulder the burden of killing. Not have somebody else do it for me at a different location. Just my personal beliefs.
@Zee Iāll start cutting them 1" above the roots. That makes it easier anyways. Normally I do only enough for one meal. Venison steaks and ramps.
Dude, are you cooking? Iām on my wayā¦
@James, were good. Even though I am a Vegan now, I wasnāt always and I try to live peacefully with those that decide to hunt for food. Nothing wrong with that and I donāt hold it against anyone who chooses to. I just donāt. Iād rather take their picture (shoot with a camera) than the alternative.
Sometimes I would too. Iām going to try bear hunting, but I donāt know if I could follow through. I like them.
Lol, if I can hit that sweet spot where the morels pop while the ramps are going strong, itāll be a good meal.
This is my First Gospel / Contemporary Christian song āFound Jesusā that I was asked to perform at our church during the Lenten Mission.
Photography up until late fall, then genealogy.
Iāve done gardening the past eight years. My biggest one was about 1800 sq ft. Took far too much time to care for, with all the other interests on my mind. Just the time spent this forum elevates it to hobby status.
We found a CSA (community supported agriculture, or farm share) that supplies most of our needs, and all organic. The garden isnāt as necessary, and that saves me a ton of time for other pursuits.
Plus, we love to do the pick your own fruits. Iām still eating blueberries we picked last July. This year will be cherries, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and apples.
For our garden this years its just 14 serrano pepper plants (pictured, grown from seeds since January) and some young fruit bushes.
I love gardening. Just traveling too much to do it. Have had CSAs a couple places Iāve worked, and haunt the farmers market. They can be expensive but the food is awesome!
We grew a lot of hot peppers. This was our biggest haul. My wife calls it āThe Day The Garden Beat Usā. A mixture of ghost peppers, chocolate habaneros, Chinese five color, serrano, Hungarian hots, purple jalapenos, and one or two I canāt remember. My first time dehydrating the ghost peppers, we had to open all the windows and leave the house for the entire day.
@Dawn I love Cohiba red dot, Romeo Julieta, Olivia and Upman. I am a Connecticut wrapper guy. I love about anything bourbon infused. We have a place in Indiana called SMOKER FRIENDLY. You can buy ANYTHING related to smoking there. They have name brand 2nds they buy and rebrand as their own. I buy the Cohiba brand and have recently tried infusing some of them in bourbon. 1st batch was very nice, but missed a step. My 2nd batch comes out in May.
I enjoy playing guitar and working on my truck
What kind of truck, @GunRangeGreg? (My boys are both car / truck nuts so Iām learning.)
Airbrushing as a hobby and side job, playing the guitar and bass, nature and railroad photography. In the spring and summer, I keep the ācropsā going for the family and friends. The best stuff grows in the yard. Fishing is another hobby, when I can get a chance.
My girls! I try to take them on dates to fish, Angels games or get ice cream as much as I can. Iām on a menās amateur baseball team.
@Dawn and @GunRangeGreg, We just got back from our road trip we took our Suburban. I like upgrading our cars as well.
We have this as our āBrady Assault Wagonā after our kids started driving and before the grandkids I did some work to it as follows, lowered 2ā front/3ā rear with a performance suspension using DJM, Eibach, Spohn and KYB.
I added these to nudge a bit more of a sporty feel to it, K&N FIPK intake, Magnaflow and SLP exhaust, engine and transmission oil auxiliary coolers, performance radiator and an Diablo Intune programmer, all of these easy bolt ons upped the horsepower, runs better with the 4 cyl mode disabled it doesnāt foul plugs or burn oil any longer, transmission shifts firmer, and removed the speed limiter.
Nothing to write home about but has a great grin factor. Itās fun seeing the look on faces when it gets moving, especially on am uphill grade and due to the suspension it hugs the road on turns. Not slot car handling but has a good grip and stable ride.
Where to startā¦
Depends on what I have time for but I have many things to choose from depending on the mood.
Racing drones (still in a beginner)
Paintball (prepping for a weekend event, will get there a day early and am taking the week off prior to prep for it, 1500-2000 players)
Light Prepper
Green energies
Welding
Electronics
Camping
Building projects (current project is pulling studs from tires modified to fit project trailer I installed as a flat bed, have to wire up the lights, wire custom lights for the harness on my vehicle, installing a propane system on it, forced air diesel furnace, tankless water heater. Battery bank, AC and DC power, solar panel, etc, etc.)
Working on getting a project car to strip and rebuild as a fun vehicle that can hit the dunes or be a bug out vehicle.
Battery welding (custom built lipo batteries and such)
3D printing
Reminds me, I got to assemble an electric vehicle to move me around in a couple weeks.
I am ADD and there is a lot more I do, just depends on the mood at the timeā¦
Nothing fancyā¦ just an ol ā99 F250 7.3 Turbo Diesel 4x4 super cab. Just enjoy maintaining for range trips and hauling equipment to biking trails
Is your truck a manual with the ZF5?
Dream truck of mine is the '97 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed Manual 5-speed Turbo Diesel 4x4 manual lockers.
