West Virginia here I come

Just closed on a house in Moorefield and feel I made a good choice. Wish CT hadn’t gotten so stupid, going from the Constitution state to the Constipation state due to our leadership being a bit plugged up. I told Janice we can either get another house or have a defense fund. House sounded better.Been looking a few years, originally TN, but liked the vibe in WV. It’ll be nice going to visit my buddy Barry54 in TN without having to deal with NY. I’ll be going back and forth for awhile, bringing things down a bit at a time, then probably sell my CT home in the spring.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention my realtor was a USCCA instructor. We get along well. Think I’ll be buying some land after I sell the CT house, get my own range going.

Very happy for you. A few miles of concertina wire, video surveillance systems and some well placed claymores, you should be completely safe from the incoming onslaught!
Prior to the coup, my family and I were speculating on a large compound for our entire family,
approximately 15 of us! It was called off due to medical issues!
A gun friendly state can really reduce stress!

So true. I see it on social media and with my close circle of friends here in CT, and comparing that to the folks I’ve met outside enemy lines.

By the way @mattm, is @Barry54 ever going to update his phone so he can get back on the forum here?!? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks Adam, Bruce, Scott and David.
No, Barry gets excited about new reloading equipment, new builds, a new piggy that just seemed to show up in a pen lol (best corn in town, word got out ) etc…but many of our phone conversations end with “well, my battery’s about to go dead”. I spent close to 4 days at his place about a month back, after picking up some items that were stolen from my son and seeing my attorney in Cincinnati, and it was mentally something I really needed. Put an offer in on my new WV house on the way home. Got to shoot my son’s guns and enjoy time with a real friend. I’ll mention again how Barry took a day off from work and helped me clear my son’s apartment after he died last May. 10 hours driving, 13 hours helping me in multiple ways. A true friend. Funny how we met here on my suppressor issue post.

Are you going to leave CT. a “nastygram” as you flee for the last time?

No. I live in a little oasis here. Good people, I go walk daily and ended up spending 2 hours yakking with neighbors today. I try to help the younger families moving in, freedom is relative, and I’ve been told I’ll be missed. Thinking about setting up a camp in WV, open invite to certain friends. It may end up being one of my better moves. As far as the state goes, the “leadership” doesn’t listen anyways, so no sense wasting energy.
Lost my mom, my dad, my son all fairly recently. I saw my dad as an aura of energy, come to get my son, as a Marine, and I realized the afterlife is not only real but it is full of warmth and love. Sounds nuts I know, I’m still blown away by this dream. Pretty sure I “got religion”. Not going to worry about the petty politicians.

My deepest sympathies to you. My aunt is in hospice and isn’t expected to live much longer. I pray that you have accepted Jesus as your savior and Lord so that you will see them again in heaven. I posted a verse Paul wrote about Christians having hope the pagans will never know because all that have accepted Jesus will be raised see their loved ones again that have died in Christ.

Blessings to you brother

The first step in becoming self-sufficient is to leave socialist states. I left New Jersey for Colorado, where I was raised.

We’re there as far as being prepared goes, but agree it is a lot harder to maintain, and definitely rougher for the younger families. Lucky that local is more like the better days we had here (though taxes are absurd) but feel the squeeze from Hartford and their so called progressive gubmint.

Almost heaven :notes: :musical_note: You know the words, you know the melody, go ahead and sing it. No one will judge you.

You know it. This is from Seneca Rocks, a bit south of the new home. My backyard view is G. Washington national forest to the right, and Washington Jefferson to the left.
In town gun club, $30/year. Public park 20 minutes away has a 10 acre gun range (and swings and picnic tables), then there’s LostRiver which is big on machine gun shooting, about a 40 minute drive.
