Weekly Prep Changes?

Yeah, I was going to say after reading your water preps, you need a generator for your well.
The pigtail for your breaker box is a must. I have those, all I do is plug the cable into my genny, and into the outlet, flip the breaker so if the power comes back on it won’t back feed into the system.

This should be easy enough to do yourself, running power into and out of power panels is super easy. Of course just make sure the power is off to it prior to working on it. Don’t let it intimidate you, 1 black, 1 white, if it’s 220v, 1 black, 1 red, 1 white.

Yes, should be easy… I do have an unused 220VAC line to an unused “breaker” that used to be for a hot tub maybe 15 years ago. I could run line in via those existing wires already outside of the house. The part that concerns me is it dosent/wouldnt have a positive disconnect from line power. I know to switch off the main breaker before engaging, but I dont think that meets code here, and I certainly dont want to endanger power company workers. I would be the only one who would touch it, but still, dont want to get into trouble. Out of curosity, this sounds similar to people who say you can plug the generator into your 220vac dryer wall plug. But then I hear stories of an inproper ground or something like that. I definately dont want to burn my house down or put anyone at risk. Assuming I turned the main breaker off, and connected to the 3 wire 220VAC hot tub wires (50 Amp breaker in the box which has been turned off for 15 years) no chance of damaging anything in the house?

Yes there is always something to add or take away. Also modify existing items. State of mind readiness is everyday thing. Its also about daily education and paying attention to local national and world in general. Its hard to not get political burn out. But its also fun to learn new things to.
