Everytime I see this crap I wonder, what about all of the people that already own firearms. ex post facto? Do they have to run down to the police station and turn themselves in? I doubt many around here would have any of that.

Bad law to be sure. But it is being enacted by elected officials ā€“ people who actually ran for office and figured out how to convince the majority of the electorate that votes to vote for them. If Washington is like many other states, Iā€™d wager that a fair number of the elected officials ran for office without an opponent.

Itā€™s all about meaningful political engagement, winning and then being in charge of the lives of the governed.

Yeah, yeah! I know!

  1. The bill has already passed the house, but it is now in the senate looking to go into committee.
It has not passed into law,ā€¦ Yet!

But wait there is more!
We have groups and lawyers fighting against it.

We got something similar that just went into effect recently. If you have a carry permit, go in, and business as usual.

No permit, gotta go to sheriffā€™s for a background check and you get a FOID type of thing then the FFL has to do there procedures ( another background check)

Just proves liberals dont really care about crime, just make it such a PIA for law abiding people so they get discouraged to buy and more guns. Same goes for rifles.

Plus the registration thing on all firearms. Just counting down the days til i move to freedom

So glad I live on the other side of the Columbia River, but this crap all comes down to one word in the 2nd Amendment that needs to be changed and that is ā€œpeopleā€ it needs to be changed to ā€œUS Citizensā€. As the 2nd Amendment is written it gives everyone within the US Borders or territories the right to be in possession of a firearm. The Supreme Court side stepped the issue by allowing States to apply laws on who could posses a firearm to prevent non-US Citizens from being able to posses one without license but then that has opened up the doors for this nonsense where States creating laws to limit the ownership for Citizens.

This is similar to what comrade ā€œgovernorā€ Polis is doing to gun owners in Colorado, among more and more onerous and anti-2nd. Amendmentā€™ bills. But then this is what the demorats and rinoā€™s must do to accomplish their ā€œOne World Orderā€ that George Bush Sr. sang the praises of several years agoā€¦yeah I heard that speech decades ago. Unless every single gun owner fights back with a local and strong gun group to go against these communists demorats kiss your gun butt good bye. Even thoā€™ we have a butt kickinā€™ President in office now who is demonstrably pro-gun, every single person who claims to be a Second Amendment lover damn well best be ready to put it on the line! The demorats will stop at nothing to destroy this Constitutional Republic, itā€™s freedoms and especially our 2nd. Amendment. There may a lot of members who donā€™t know the history of Cuba once our nearest and open little neighbor. Castro came in, all ā€œbenevolentā€, good guy blah blahā€¦then it hit the fan. The only ones armed in Cuba belong to the ā€œcommandantā€ and average Cubanā€™s can pound sand. We the People will continue to be under attack by state ā€œgovernorsā€ who hate our 2nd. Amendment until we stop them. If you have a gun group fighting treasonous gun bills in your state then help them! It takes money to file suits in court. Here in Colorado law suits are edging upwards close to one million each! Iā€™m almost 80, probably on more lists than I care to know about, and on SSā€¦if you can send even $15.00 or $20.00 a month to your gun guys to help them stop this attack in your state, or if you have a Constitutional governor send more to your gun advocates. Weā€™re not going to have the Donald in office indefinitelyā€¦so what ever true 2nd. Amendment believers can doā€¦the more the merrier.
Please, please support your local gun group, if you donā€™t have one consider National Gun Rights headed by Taylor Rhoades. Thank yā€™all for yā€™allā€™s support in our nation wide fight. :cowboy_hat_face:

In Washington State it will also be required to get a CWP too as well as just buy a gun. The other question is if you already have guns if you are required to take the coarse and fill out the paperwork for the guns you already have?

Iowa was one of 6 states in the union that did NOT have a 2nd Amendment-type protection in its state Constitution, but a very effective, all-volunteer Gun Rights lobbying organization there to which I belong changed that in 2022ā€™s mid-term election cycle. Now we not only have added Amendment 1A to our Constitution, but we are also Constitutional (permit-less) carry within the state. We also strengthened our preemption law so that no County or local municipality (or subdivision thereof) may enact a local ordinance, rule or regulation that is more restrictive than state law with respect to open or concealed carrying of weapons. Iowa is and always has been an Open Carry state.

Yes, I heard about the recent law there banning the sale or transfer of ALL semi-automatic weapons. You have businesses leaving Colorado, including a prominent Auction House in Penrose, CO, for other less restrictive states. It canā€™t help but negatively impact businesses, tourism and the safety of citizens in your state!
